BOOK REVIEW- THE DEVIL IN THE DUKE A Revelry’s Tempest Novel by K.J. Jackson

The Devil in the Duke: A Revelry’s Tempest Novel by [Jackson, K.J.]
A man accustomed to hiding secrets.
His dark silver eyes are haunted, and for good reason. Logan Lipinstein lost his wife years ago in the war and has been a living shell of a man ever since, attempting to atone for past sins. Until one fateful day, when she walks past him carrying a basket of bread.

A woman with a lost past.
Sienna Ponstance lives in the comfort of her grandmother's estate, having long ago put herself on the shelf as a spinster. She has her charcoals, the village that she loves, and peaceful days—even if something has always been missing from her life. Until the day her tranquility is shattered when a strange man accosts her as she is walking home from the village.

Love reunited.
His wife—dead for ten years—walked along the path in front of Logan. Scarcely believing his eyes, he approaches her and is quickly rewarded with a rebuff that includes the point of a knife. Sienna has no memory of him, thinking him only a ruffian.

Now he just has to convince her that he actually is her husband. And that their boundless love can conquer anything—including a past that threatens them at every turn. AMAZON 4 STARS

A surprising start to the story.  This was a very emotional read for just  about everyone involved in it. The things that Logan, and Sienna went through.  Whew!  It was pretty intense most of the way through.
Along with Logan's brother Robby, they all had a pretty rough childhood.  One that I am not going to share but let it unfold for you as it did for me.  I will say that Sienna has known them from early childhood.  Well, she did when she had all her memories.

There is at least one person who will do ANYTHING to keep them apart and almost gets his way with that goal.  It definitely caused Sienna and Logan even more suffering than what they had already gone through.
There is plenty of action and running away because of this enemy to their love.
There is a moment or two when Logan and Sienna come together as a married couple.  Translation?  I mean that there are several heated sexual encounters between them.  Married sex in other words.
The story concludes with an explosion of confrontation with a surprising ending.
There is a H.E.A.  but my gosh, they sure did earn it.  They had a few people who stood by them who made for interesting secondary characters.

"I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and this my honest opinion of it.
