BOOK REVIEW- THE RELUCTANT THIEF by Mallory Crowe

The Reluctant Thief (Stolen Hearts Book 4) by [Crowe, Mallory]
Former cop Scott Hart's life as he knew it was taken in a fraction of a second when his wife was murdered. After years of research and questionable alliances, he's finally about to come face to face with the man who killed her. Except when he's arrested for a crime he didn't commit, his revenge plans are put on hold. But he has one ace in his pocket. He has one of the best hackers in the world on his side.

Computer hacker Toni knows Scott is off limits. Even if he weren't totally hung up on his late wife, they work together. In her line of work, pesky things like crushes and emotions get you killed. But when Scott is framed, Toni knows she needs to pull out the big guns to get him out of trouble.

As much as she wants to get over Scott, she knows she can't let him go at it alone. So she's going to stick with him as long as he needs her, come hell and heartbreak. Who knows? Someday he might even love a thief like her.   AMAZON 4 STARS

I've been reading and enjoying this series for a while now.  Toni has been in most of the other stories in one way or another.  I've been waiting for her story and now I'm glad it's finally here.

Scott and Toni are two people so totally different from each other.  He's been an honest cop for years and Toni lives her own code which often crosses the line of lawfulness.  Things get upset in a big way because their mutual enemy Sterling is still out there.  He killed her mother and Scott's wife at separate times.  Sterling has been a step or two ahead of them and Toni's family for some time now.  Is this the book where they finally are able to put a stop to his evil?  You will have to read the book to find out.  It has a pretty interesting chase to it.
Toni has had a "crush" on Scott for some time but her default position is to be a smart mouth and that does continue.  Both of them are dealing with multiple attacks against them.  Toni is going to go it alone but Scott is not having any part of them.  He finds a way to insert himself into her plans.  That also includes him the danger too.  He was already in Sterling's sights and this only makes it worse.
There will be plenty of action until the story ends.  Along with some "cameo" appearances of her sisters and their "mates".
Scott might be reluctant to be a thief and cross the law lines but he finds he's less reluctant when it comes to spending more time with Toni.  He finds himself admiring her more and more; he starts seeing her positive attributes.  And over time, he finds he's thinking about her more and more and less about his dead wife.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy and this is my honest opinion of it.

I received a ARC of this book and this is my honest thoughts about the book.
