Football fans, know what the term Blitz means.   Since I am not one of them I was glad that it was defined.
One definition of Blitz means  " a strategy where the defensive team attempts to disrupt their opponent with a quick, devastating and hopefully unexpected attack."
People might wonder, " If you aren't a football fan, why on earth did you get this book?"
My answer to that is, I wanted to see what wisdom's that this Christian man has learned in football that can be used in everyday life.  The subtitle, "Three Strategies for turning trials into triumphs" caught my eye.  I have seen where other people in the sports field had everyday life wisdom's and encouragements too.
I like how Kemp explains it for those of us who don't know the game well, that would be me.
a blitz is what happens when an excessive number of defensive players approach the line of scrimmage with the intention of rushing the quarterback and sacking him for a significant loss in yards. The goals are surprise ad intimidation, meant to overwhelm and damage an offense's play, as well as the quarterback!.  Now that I can understand.
Easy to understand also is each chapter with is short grouping at the end.  Like "Time Out for Self-Reflection, Run the Play (Practical Application and the prayer for the reader, just to mention a few.
Something that really got my attention right off the bat was Strategy #1
-Find the Opportunity n the Crisis
-Let the Old Dream Die
-Embrace a Bigger Vision
This book is rich with so much, it needs to be read and re-read as its put into practice.  Its what I would like to think of as a Life Study Book.   I've read some that are so dry that I could hardly stand it.    This is NOT one of those.  Strategy #2 is to be willing to change.  Change takes time, but I believe this book can help.
One last thought is, Kemp talks about being a Love Investor.  What a way to think and put it.   That phrase stays with me.

I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House Publishing  in exchange for an honest review.
