I liked this book but with some reservations.  It had some good characters in it that included the main characters.  Rafael's "brothers" that were bonded together because of what they went through were unique and lethal.
The back story of what Rafael went through as a child was both interesting and horrific.  It starts the book out with some hold your breath beginnings.   Finding the monster that caused all of it not only kept him alive but totally focused.  Until he met Eliana that is.  Then things really get shook upside down.  Eliana on the other hand had no idea of what she was getting into.  But they BOTH were mesmerized when they first set eyes on each other.  No doubt about it, this is a book with a lot of emotion to it.  The only downside for me was some of the cheesy romantic conversations between the two main characters.  Maybe it didn't bother anyone else but saying what I was feeling.
I did feel like this book had a unique story-line.  Look for a great twist or two towards the end of the book.  That I can say was well done by the author.  It did leave one question in my mind but I won't say what it is because that could ruin it for others who want to read this book.  The answer might be in any of the other books in this series.
