BOOK REVIEW- I KISSED A ROGUE

I Kissed a Rogue (Covent Garden Cubs Book 3) by [Galen, Shana]
Once she spurned the man...
When the Duke of Lennox hires Sir Brook Derring, England's best investigator, to find his daughter, Brook intends only to rescue the lady and return to his solitary life. He deals with London's roughest criminals every day of the week; surely he should be able to endure seeing his first love again-the perfect girl who broke his heart...
Now her life depends on him
Lady Lillian-Anne Lennox has always done her best to live up to her father's standards of perfection-at the cost of following her heart. When she's kidnapped and her perfect life is shattered, Lila has another chance. Together, Lila and Brook navigate not only the dark and deadly side of London, but the chasm of pride and prejudice that divides them.   AMAZON  4.5 STARS

I really liked this story.  The plot was unusual and I enjoyed it a lot.  There were plenty of twists and turns to keep my interest, which never lagged. In fact the very first chapter opened with a bang. The relationship between the main characters kept things hopping too. No Inta-Forgiveness here.  I liked that and the fact that there was regret and hurt but its not so heavy that it bogged the story down.  Brook had  legitimate grievances with Lila, that stemmed from their past history.  As the story unfolds, you begin to see just how cruel she had been as a sefish young beauty.  We also began to see some of the hurts that she has lived through in her selfish family.  Brook began over time to see some possible changes in how she was now.  But his thinking is, "is it real and what does it matter now?"  I liked Brook, who has been somewhat hardened by life and his past experience with Lila.  He still couldn't hide his kindess and honor that did still exist.
The villain of the piece was exactly that.  Cruel and Cunning.  And you will find out that there is more than one, villain.
There will at some point sex and a HEA, but it will be hard fought for.
