BOOK REVIEW- A DARING SACRIFICE
In a reverse twist on the Robin Hood story, a young medieval maiden stands up for the rights of the mistreated, stealing from the rich to give to the poor. All the while, she fights against her cruel uncle who has taken over the land that is rightfully hers. Forced to live in the woods and hide with the poor people she's grown to love, she works to save and protect them, but she never anticipates falling in love with the wealthy knight who represents all she's come to despise.

Great Story! Wow, the action starts right away. This story caught my attention and kept it all the way through. It drew me in so well that the time just seemed to fly by. Lady Juliana was a fighter, who was just trying to help her people survive. And the odds were stacked pretty high against her. Her identity as Lady Juliana was gone because the outside world believed her dead. But the peasants who she fought beside knew her as not only that but as the "The Cloaked Bandit." She was fierce, fearless and bold and sometimes kind of reckless. She keenly felt the suffering of her people and suffered right along with them, literally. She suffers the cold, the lack and the hunger with them. She hunts game and steals to feed them and help keep them alive as they hide in the forests. Juliana's cruel uncle and his son have stolen so much from her and rule brutally over her estate and the people she cares about. Bulldog and his son, Thatch are two of those people that she cares about and Bulldog does all he can to protect Juliana. And its a tough job for him to do but he promised her father that he would do his best.
Collin turned out to be quite the surprise. He's a warrior who has returned to his home as the newly established heir. He's in for a rude awakening, to many things he hasn't ever thought of before. He's used to battle, he's used to wealth and now he has a lot at his disposal. Its quite an interesting first meeting between Juliana and Collin. And she's about to turn his world upside down. The two of them end up striking quite an unusual bargain. I liked the humor and kindness that Collin showed when Juliana began to spend time with him, it was who he really was. In fact, I really liked both of the Main Characters.
His sister has been in charge in his absence after their father died. Irene has done a good job but she doesn't like the idea of stepping down. She's beautiful, headstrong and a bit cold. And she doesn't think her brother is up to the task of running the estate but she has no choice. That doesn't mean that she's not going to cause some problems though.
There's danger all around them. Juliana's uncle, Lord Wessex and his son Sir Edgar, are still relentlessly hunting for The Cloaked Bandit and his followers. And they has a small army behind them and enough ruthlessness to get the job done. They are not one bit afraid to torture, maim or kill anyone who gets in their way either.
By the way, what an attractive book cover!
