BOOK REVIEW- Shadows at Dusk (Missing in Alaska #2)by Elizabeth Goddard

 Christian | Mystery & Thrillers | Romance

 Description
Montana Detective Trevor West is desperate to learn what happened to his sister, who went missing in Alaska over a year ago, leaving nothing but a few photographs as clues to her whereabouts. At the advice of Police Chief Autumn Long, Trevor enlists the help of an experienced bush pilot. If Carrie James can't help him find the places in the photographs, no one can.

But Carrie has her own agenda. Grieving the death of her closest friend and the only person she could trust, Carrie will help Trevor find his sister on one condition--that he help her track down her friend's killer.

As the two close in on the answers they crave, they'll face dangers and connections they could not have imagined. They'll have to learn to trust one another--and face the dark secrets of the past--if they are ever to discover the truth and bring a killer to justice.

 4 STARS

This was a good Christian mystery, thriller with interesting main characters. Trevor and Carrie both has some serious regrets, secrets that they are battling. Turns out they both have their own trust issues.  Ten years have passed since her life shattering encounter with someone she loved who betrayed her.  Someone who saved her life and has always been there for her is Isaac, who had become safe place.  He was not only the manager of their business but was like her substitute father/uncle, friend.  In other words he was her family.
Trevor won't give up until he finally get some answers to what happened to his sister. And he's good at what he does.  He does find out though that a lot of things hadn't come to light about what Jennifer was up to.  Carrie helps a lot because she knows about the country and knows people that know people.  Danger kicks up when the "villains" don't want those answers uncovered. They are willing to kill to keep them and already have.  Plenty of twists to the story that has really good world building too.
I kept in the story until the final surprise and a very satisfying ending.
