**Book Review- Rank (Lighthouse Security Investigations# 2) by MaryAnn Jordan

She just wanted to slip out the back of a restaurant… not land in the middle of an investigation.

John “Rank” Rankin always delivered on his missions.  When the Feds ask for assistance in investigating the possible link between a US Senator and a member of the Russian mafia, Rank volunteers for the job.  Perfect planning goes awry when Helena stumbles into the middle of his meeting with a witness.

As Rank needs Helena’s information, he realizes she may be in danger, but keeping her safe is no longer just part of the mission. Hearts become involved and the one-time player gives it all for the woman he loves.

Lighthouse Security Investigations

The security and investigation company is filled with handpicked men and women from the SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces, Deltas, and Air Force Special Ops.   All trained in CIA Special Operations, the Keepers were the best of the best and ready to take on any mission.

This was a good story with interesting main characters.  To start with Helena was something else, in  a good way.  Well, not only is she beautiful and kind but she is also a bit goofy and accident prone.  She proves that with her first meeting with Rank  Utterly humiliating.   But it did make me smile.  I smiled about her conversations with her best friend too.

Rank was a good guy who was skilled at his job and used to being in charge.  Well, that all went upside down after his first meeting with Helena.

His fellow team members add so  much to the story as do some of the women in the group.  The world building I thought was spot on.

I enjoyed the whole story even if I thought there was quite a bit of sex scenes between Rank, and Helena.  Thankfully there was also a tender romance too.

The ending was good with everything being wrapped up.

" I voluntarily read a  copy of this book,  and this is my honest opinion about it.
