She’d brought him his greatest joy.

Now he must save her life…

Rancher Kara Holland’s hot on the trail of a murderer who’s been killing surrogates—like she was for her ill sister. But when Kara’s trap goes terribly wrong, she’s thrust headlong into the killer’s crosshairs…along with her sister’s widower, Deputy Daniel Logan. And as she and Daniel stay one frantic step ahead of a deadly foe, the sparks igniting between them rival the danger they face.

The book information caught my attention right away and I just knew I wanted to read this story.  And I'm glad I did.  It just sounded like it would be really unusual.

Kara and Daniel were both really good main characters who were in denial at first about their attraction to each other.  And the dangers that they were trying to escape made that attraction something that they just had to put on the back burner.  Hey, they just had to stay alive and stop the murders.  And amidst all of that they had to keep baby Sadie, alive and well.
I liked that anger was beginning to be Kara's go to mode when the stalking and the attacks started.  She was tired of being afraid and feeling helpless.
Daniel was the solid gold kind of guy that you would expect.  And I liked how Daniel and Kara made such a good team.
The attacks against them were relentless and about the time they thought they had the person or persons behind it, they would hit a dead end or another suspect would be highlighted.  They had plenty of suspects, that's for sure. The action goes through the roof.
The ending is filled with some surprises but ends in the best way possible. Well, at least for Kara and Daniel.

I read this book through Libby Library app.
