BOOK REVIEW- DESPERATELY SEEKING SUZANNA by Elizabeth Michels

Desperately Seeking Suzanna (Tricks of the Ton Book 2) by [Michels, Elizabeth]
Her Cinderella Moment

Sue Green just wanted one night to be the pretty one. But a few glasses of champagne and one wild disguise later, she's in some serious trouble. Who knew the devastatingly handsome face of Lord Holden Ellis would get in the way of her foot? And how exactly did all that high-kick dancing start in the first place? At least she blamed it on her new persona—Suzanna—so Society's most eligible bachelor will never find out the truth.

All Holden wants is the truth. Who was that vixen who seduced him so thoroughly, then disappeared? The only one who seems to have any answers about Suzanna is Miss Sue Green. She's promised to help him find his mystery woman, but she's not being all that helpful. And the more time Holden spends with Sue—witty, pretty, and disarmingly honest—the more he realizes he may have found exactly what he's been looking for all along...AMAZON  4.5 STARS

What a fun way to have the main characters really meet for the first time.  It was what got my attention to read the book in the first place and it delivered.

Sue's mother was of the worst sort and it was almost hard to believe how nasty she was to Sue.  She was so hurtful and didn't even see how wrong it was.  It made it pretty easy to be drawn in and hope that Sue would be recognized for how valuable she really was.

Sue, might not be classically beautiful but she was pretty in her own way.  I remember Holden being glad that no one had seen that before he did.  Although, he was often pretty clueless when it came to seeing that Sue was "the one" he had been looking for.  She had a side to her that was Suzanna, a bit wilder and definitely more passionate.  She was also a very talented artist.  She was quirky in a way I enjoyed.  She also had times where what she thought came out her mouth before she knew it.  She caused Holden to laugh often and she refused to dance with him.  But that's a whole different part of the story.

Sue isn't the only one keeping secrets though and some of Holden's were dangerous.  The big one being his dead mother, she isn't dead. It's been at least 25 years that it's been believed that she was.

There will be plenty of surprises in store and I enjoyed the flow of the book.
Because of this book, I am picking up some of the others by this author to read.  It looks like it's more quirky women ahead.
There is a quick peek into "How to lose a Lord in 10 days or less".  It looks pretty promising.  It's now on my TBR list.

The book dedication was a nice one, that brought a smile to my face.  One of the nicest mother-in-law ones that I've read.
