Fortune on Moon Lake

BOOK- FORTUNE ON MOON LAKE- A woman who can't let go of her past...Melanie Addario's been in emotional limbo since her boyfriend disappeared two years ago. Now a secret admirer is coaxing her well-protected heart out of hiding, making her question if she should wait for a man who may never come back, or if it's finally time to open herself to new possibilities.
A man who must fight for his future...Rafael Delacruz never meant to become a secret admirer. When he left the first gift on Melanie's doorstep, he had every intention of finally asking out the blonde bombshell who'd attracted his attention years before. But the very next day, she was asking him for a job, and there was no way he was going to send her away. Now he's Melanie's boss, an arrangement that has him firmly pressed between his desires and responsibility.
When the owner of Crescent Moon puts the vineyard on the market for a small fortune, Moon Lake outsider Rafael is forced to find the backing of an investor to buy the business he's come to love. But someone is trying to sabotage operations at the vineyard, putting his plans for Crescent Moon and his hopes for a relationship with Melanie in jeopardy.
Will they be able to separate friends from enemies before it's too late, or will they lose the vineyard--and each other--forever?

I think I enjoyed this second book even more than the first.   There was a similar theme when it came to a father not being there for their son.  Notice I said similarities. Each man's story is different,  but their disappointment and bitterness were in place.
In this story Rafael had such shame being his father's son and had done so much to put his past behind him.  He also spent most of his time just working in the vineyard, which he really loved.  He kept mainly to himself because he felt others looked down on him.   He remembers Melanie, and he wants to date her but some many things keep getting in his way. His insecurities being right there in the mix too.    He is so sensitive to a possible insult that he constantly causes problems beween himself and Melanie.   Still, made you hope they could get it together.  Toss in the problems of Melanie getting past her feelings about Greg is just one of them. I couldn't believe that she thought about going back to Greg if he ever showed back up again.  What? He walked out and was gone for two years without even a word to show if he was alive or not.  Yes, I understand he was working out his life, trying to put it back together again.  But I had a bit of a problem with that myself.  She was willing to give up possible love for someone she thought she might still love?  Problems at the vineyard continued until the person responsible is exposed as well as their motives.
I was happy to see that this was a standalone story in the series just like the first one. Everything was concluded but I still think there could be other people that we could be introduced to in another book from this town.  I guess we will just have to wait and see.   I guess Lisa (Melanie's sister) could be one of those stories.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
