Book Review: Strait of Hormuz, Marc Royce Series #3

Strait of Hormuz, Marc Royce Series #3 -
        By: Davis Bunn
the Marc Royce Adventures
Marc Royce was fired, so why is the Intelligence Community calling him back to action.  Unofficially of course.  With no backup and no gun?   What is one man supposed to do anyway?  At stake is Iran's threat to blockade the narrow Strait of Hormuz, cutting off vital shipping routes and escalating global tensions beyond the breaking point.  And certain powerful people in the U.S. military want to go head to head with a strike that could draw just about everyone into an impossible war.   Marc is headed to Switzerland, and when he gets there things really blow up, literally!   There's a lot more going on that it looks like and its a good thing Marc is sharp at what he does.  He has some contacts and he's going to need them.

What's not to like?
It was filled with Political Spy Drama, Action, Mystery, Suspense, Warriors from different countries and International Borders. Good and Bad guys for both side (classic good vs evil). Add into that mix a romance that really hasn't died, the longing is still there for the main man, Marc Royce and a woman he's afraid to really love, Kitra Korban. I really liked the action and more complicated twist and turns in unearthing where the real evil threat is and all the the people who needed to be stopped in making it a success. Its dangerous, and everyone doesn't make it out alive but I'm not going to spoil it by telling more about that. One interesting thing is that they pick up unlikely friends along the way, a real motley crew. About half-way through the book, the part about faith and God enter into the picture but it is also woven very nicely as an important part of the story, helped make it make even more sense. An Intense read, you need to keep on your toes to read it, but it was well worth it in my opinion.
This is the first book that I have read with the Hero, Marc Royce, gotta say I really liked it! Makes me wonder about the previous ones now.

There is something I want to keep fresh in my memory to pray.  Kitra mentioned a Scripture that her family prayed and I really liked it.  It was a Revised (or to my way of thinking "personalized")

Psalm 125: 2:
"Lord as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so surround my family and me, both now and forevermore".

I received a FREE copy of this novel from Bethany House Publishers as part of their book review program, and I am under no obligation to write a positive review.
