Book Review: Payback in Panama

Payback in Panama

Alexandra LaDuca  is  a highly successful agent for the U.S. government.  Even though Alex was on the hit-list by the Dosi Cartel, she also had friends who were willing to try to see she made it out alive.  Yardena Dosi is plotting vengeance against Alex and she won't stop at anything to see her dead. Alex's friends and co-workers are going to have to step it up to get her out of this- several other assignation attempts had already failed.   Alex was just as determined to see that Yardena's crime cartel was finally, totally crushed.

Although I liked this story, it was hard to follow in the beginning. I found myself flipping back and forth to get used to the many different people in the story. Although over time I found the different people very interesting as I kept reading.   At times, it felt like almost too much information about the crime rates and criminal methods in several different countries and areas. The financial manipulation that the criminals used, at times also got kind of dry. That aside, I felt that the STORIES (because there were several going on), were intricate and well done. I really liked the main characters of Alex and Eric and even her boss, Andy. Even though Alex was on the hit-list by the Dosi Cartel, she also had friends who were willing to try to see she made it out alive. Yardena Dosi is plotting vengeance against Alex and she won't stop at anything to see her dead. Alex's friends and co-workers are going to have to step it up to get her out of this- several other assassination attempts had failed. It was a slow start but when it got rolling I found it was well worth the read.  Watch for several twists at the end.
My advice?  If you like cloak and dagger?   Push through any drier parts, because there will be lots of action otherwise.
