Rumors of God..
Experience The Kind Of Faith You’ve Only Heard About
Authors Darren Whitehead & Jon Tyson put out the challenge. Are we changing our world or is our culture changing us? Its presented in a loving; honest way but without harshness or hopelessness. They walk us through the question of :are you a radical Christian or a person of radical individualism? They sound the cry that we cannot live independently of other believers and only think of our own needs. We have become a part of the body, the family. Also part of this journey is the unsaved; how do we look at them? Do we judge them or see them with the eyes of God; His love, His mercy, His grace? We do offer judgement or offer God’s love and help?
I found this book to be interesting; with refreshing real life stories . One point they made was: The primary job of the Christan life is to remain in how God feels about us, not how we feel about Him. Another good point is the description of the flesh. We often think the Bible is talking of our physical body but its more accurately described as the systems, strategies and structures we create to live without God. Those attitudes, habits and desires that serve as functional gods in our lives , the things we do to keep ourselves from really depending on God. For people who want to take it a step further, there is a Reading Group guide, with questions in the back.
