Thunder Dog- deserves high marks

Thunder dog by Michael Hingson with Susy Flory, is a true story of a blind man, his Guide Dog and his life before, during and after the shocking attack on America on 9/11. The foreword in this book is done by Larry King, who does an excellent job of setting up the reader, in a good way for this story. The author shares not only what happened to himself and his guide dog during the long ordeal of escape but shares the also the events of others who he encountered on that journey. Also woven in are “flash backs” of sorts; stories; glimpses into his life growing up that prepared him for much of what was to come. Here is one of his quotes , it says alot about the man; and his faith in God:
"God does not present insurmountable problems. Instead, he gives us challenges, waits for us to overcome them, and then rejoices."   Michael Hingson

This book was a joy to read and deserves everyone of the 5 stars I gave it. Despite the serious events described in this book, it has such an overcoming attitude to it. The stories of his childhood, and adulthood before 9/11 were blended skillfully within the whole book. Often when we read things like this, jumping back and forth in time, it can feel choppy. This was not; it had a smooth flow to it. His description of the Shepherd's role in the natural and the parallels with Jesus, our Shepard was insightful. Would I call this book, inspiring? YES!  His “Why Not ?” attitude when he was told he/a blind person couldn’t do something, will open the eyes of some of the sighted who read this.

Quote by Mahatma Gandhi

Interdependence is
and ought to be
as much the ideal as
self-sufficiency.

Think about it.
Don't get so caught up on Who said it
as the truth of this statement.
We've heard it in different forms,
No man is an island,
Jesus taught to be servants.
Doesn't that require interdependence?
Not.. dependence which we uusally use
in ways that are unhealthy.

Extreme Makeover- part 2

The enemy has tried to abort this generation from entering
into their promise land but I am taking this generation,
and I am going to cross them over into a new place.
So it shall be that they shall go into that new place and they shall flow
in My grace. They shall flow in the spirit and they shall know My
voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.
I have put within them a hunger for the supernatural.
This was put within them from before the foundations of the earth,
remember saith the Lord, those who I call I equip.
 And I have equipped them.
They have the equipment, the desire, and the tenacity to live
in these days. Remember what I said in My Word,
where sin abounds grace does so much abound.
And the grace of God is going to arise from within this generation,
have expression, gain entrance into the lives of their peers.
So expect a miracle saith the Lord.
Expect a miracle in your nation.
Expect a miracle in and among your youth.
Expect miracles in your church gatherings
 and even on the streets.
For I am a God of the miraculous.
Keep the switch of faith turned on,
speak my Word and I will confirm My word with signs following.

Extreme Makeover-part 1

A friend, Diana shared info from this ministry
and I am sharing a word of the Lord from their Prophetic Corner.
<><>
This prophesy came forth through Margie in one
her meetings on April 18, 2004.
I can hear the Lord saying,
'I am going to change the face of the church in America.
I am going to give the church in America an extreme makeover.
The churches in America have formed their own tradition,
and their own way of doing things. I am about to interject
and interrupt your programs, your outlines, and your form of godliness
I can see and I can hear the Lord getting ready to utter His voice
before His great army. This move of God is going to come
from a different way, from a different vein.
He is going to interrupt our services.
 'And the day is coming
when the Spirit of might, power and grace is going to fall
on many congregations in America. This is not going to be
by might, not by programs, not by a certain song,
its going to come by My Spirit says the Lord. For where sin
abounds, My grace is going to so much more abound.
Many have said that America is going down, but I see from
a different perspective says the Lord. The church in America
is arising, and she is coming up on her feet.
She is beginning to stand, take her place and she is beginning to shine.
My glory is arising and My glory is shining through My church,
My people, My chosen ones, those who are called by My name.
The Spirit of might is going to demonstrate Himself
in the churches in America with the miraculous, yeah
signs and wonders and miracles. The gift of faith and working of miracles.
Miracles are going to begin to flow in the midst of the congregations,
no one will touch them, for the Spirit of the Lord will touch them
and no man will get the glory, because the Spirit of the Lord will come
upon them and He will heal them.
And so it shall be, you shall see in the church in America,
I am going to give her an "extreme makeover."
What I keep seeing is there are so many television shows in the secular
world about these extreme makeovers. God is saying, 'This is just
a counterfeit of what I am doing in the church, for I am going to work
a work in this generation that if it were told you, some of you would say
'this is like a dream.' ' The dreams that I dreams says the Lord
are those that come true.
For I am not a man that I should lie, neither the son of man
 that I should repent.
The glory of this latter house, which is the time that you live in is going
to greater than that of the former, which is the time of the early church.
For these are  the last days says the Lord, and I said in My word
that I would pour out of My Spirit.'
I see it like a dam, and there is a crack in the dam. I see the crack slowly
getting bigger and bigger. Opening up wider and wider, then suddenly
water being poured out...a great door of revival being opened.
A great revival bursting forth in our nation
. Don't say no-no-no- 'it can't be'!
But say, 'Yes! be it unto me according to your Word.'
Even as Mary who looked at the impossible and said,
'how can these things be, seeing I know not a man?'
And the angel said unto her, 'The Holy Spirit...
The Holy Spirit... The Holy Spirit will come upon thee and the power
of the Most High shall over shadow thee...
and so shall the Holy Spirit come upon this nation.
And I am about to do a new thing in and among the youth,
for I am raising up a generation of  young people
who have been called and chosen to live in a time such as this.
For many have set themselves like a flint and have decided
that they are going to follow Me, and in all of their ways
acknowledge Me. I am not only going to bring direction to them,
but I am going to anoint them with the fresh oil of My presence.
And they too are going to arise and shine with a strategic message
to their generation. And they shall come forth as mighty men and
woman of valor. Many of these young ones shall move in the prophetic
as those who have been seasoned with time and maturity,
and even tho they are young, their seasoning has come from
what I put with in them from before they were formed in their mothers
womb. It is My Fathers good pleasure to see them walking in the Truth,
and walking out their fore ordained destinies. They shall be given divine
inspiration of My Spirit, and they shall speak as a oracle of God.
And many will say, 'they are only a youth yea even a child.'
But young people be bold and be strong! Say not yourselves,
' I am only a child, for you shall go where ever I send you
and you shall speak what ever I put with in you to speak.'
And these young people will not be afraid of the faces of men,
for their desires will be only to please Me. They will not look to the right
or to the left, their faces will be set like a flint with divine purpose
and direction from My throne room of grace. For great grace is upon the
youth of this land, and so it shall be that I will ordain many
. For I am raising up a standard against the enemy.
The enemy has tried to abort..

MORE than Conquerors- Pt. 1

In God's economy (Kingdom) In order to receive anything;
you have to believe it first.

Joyce (aprox.15:30 on download) says
If you think you don't have to work at this your wrong.
"Who do you think I talk to alot?"
She said "Me".
She talks to herself all day.
I am the righteousness in Christ Jesus,
devil you shut up,
I'm not going to put up with your lies!
I hear from God;
I am anointed!
I am blessed; I am a blessing everywhere I go.
You're going to run your mouth anyway, you might as well do it in a way that's gonna do some good!
Earlier she said, its time for Christians to stop falling down at every little thing.
And staying there.
It takes a bus-load of Christians to get you up-
and then at the slightest thing-down you go again.

Mindsets That Hurt and Hinder You

by Joyce Meyer
The people of Israel wandered around in the desert for 40 years, making what should have only been an 11-day journey. Why? Was it because of their enemies, their circumstances, or the trials along the way? Or was it something entirely different that prevented them from arriving at their destination?
As I pondered this situation, God gave me a powerful revelation that helped me, personally, and thousands of others. The Lord revealed to me that the Israelites spent all that time in the desert because they had "wilderness mentalities."

Is Your Mind in the Desert?

We really shouldn't look at the Israelites with such astonishment, because most of us do the exact same thing. We go around and around the same mountain instead of making progress. It takes us years to experience victory over something that could, and should, have been dealt with quickly and put behind us. God showed me that wilderness mentalities are wrong mindsets.
We can have right mindsets that will benefit us or wrong mindsets that will hurt us and hinder our progress. Colossians 3:2 teaches us to set our minds and keep them set. We need our minds set in the right direction. Wrong mindsets not only affect our circumstances, but they also affect our inner life.
There was a time when my circumstances weren't bad, but I couldn't enjoy anything in my life because my mind was "in the desert." Dave and I had a nice home, four lovely children, good jobs, and enough money to live comfortably. However, I couldn't enjoy our blessings because I had several wilderness mentalities that had me trapped.

Don't Miss Your Promised Land

Some people see things negatively because they've experienced unhappy circumstances all their lives and can't imagine anything getting any better. Then there are those who see everything as bad and negative simply because that's the way they feel on the inside. Whatever the cause, a negative outlook leaves a person miserable and unable to make any progress toward the "promised land."
God called the children of Israel out of Egypt (bondage) and into the land He promised to give them as a perpetual inheritance—land that flowed with milk and honey and every good thing they could imagine. It was a land where there'd be no shortage of anything they needed—land of prosperity in every realm of their existence. Most of the generation that the Lord called out of Egypt never entered the Promised Land; instead, they died in the desert. To me, this is one of the saddest things that can happen to someone—to have so much available but not be able to enjoy it.

Enjoy the Journey

I was one of those people for many years of my life. I was on my way to the Promised Land (heaven), but I wasn't enjoying the trip. My mind was in the desert, and I was dying in the wilderness. My wilderness mentalities, or wrong ways of thinking, were keeping me from dealing with those areas of life that God wanted to touch and redeem. I was stuck...going around and around the same mountain; but thank God for His mercy. He helped me identify and change those wrong mindsets. Today, my mind is renewed. I have a new way of thinking, and I've been rescued from the desert.
What God did for me, He can certainly do for you. Ask Him to show you your wilderness mentalities and help you make the necessary changes. He can deliver your mind from the desert and help you enjoy the journey to the promised land!

AND......

Most people
want to experience supernatural results in their lives.
However, we experience supernatural results
when we cultivate our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
When we allow Him to lead us, we will operate above our natural ability.
There are no limitations when the Holy Spirit is our guide (Acts 2:32, 33).

busy, busy, busy

It is easy to get distracted in our busy world.
However,
we must not get too busy to remain connected to God.
 In His presence,
we discover His plans and purposes for our lives,
which allow us to have peace,
despite what is going on around us.

Fear is not your Friend

Fear of any kind gives Satan access to our lives. It is a demonic spirit, and we must refuse it with all our might.
So what do we do when we fear?
We immediately consider God’s love for us
and what His Word has to say about the situation.
When we know God loves us,
we believe His promises.
Perfect love casts out all fear (2 Timothy 1:6-7).

Rumors of God- practising real Chrisitanity

Rumors of God..
Experience The Kind Of Faith You’ve Only Heard About
Authors Darren Whitehead & Jon Tyson put out the challenge. Are we changing our world or is our culture changing us? Its presented in a loving; honest way but without harshness or hopelessness. They walk us through the question of :are you a radical Christian or a person of radical individualism? They sound the cry that we cannot live independently of other believers and only think of our own needs. We have become a part of the body, the family. Also part of this journey is the unsaved; how do we look at them? Do we judge them or see them with the eyes of God; His love, His mercy, His grace? We do offer judgement or offer God’s love and help?

I found this book to be interesting; with refreshing real life stories . One point they made was: The primary job of the Christan life is to remain in how God feels about us, not how we feel about Him. Another good point is the description of the flesh. We often think the Bible is talking of our physical body but its more accurately described as the systems, strategies and structures we create to live without God. Those attitudes, habits and desires that serve as functional gods in our lives , the things we do to keep ourselves from really depending on God. For people who want to take it a step further, there is a Reading Group guide, with questions in the back.

Today, I'll choose

So many times we ( I) have tried to do or not do something
and attacking it with an all or nothing attitude.
You say, How's that working for you?
My answer-  Not well.
So now I take a page out of a friends book
and say " Today, I decide to .... ( you fill in the blank)
Today I decide not to.......
Quality decisions day by day.
I think God can help me there- Today.
After all, in the Old Testement he gave his people
fresh manna EACH day (Today) while they were in the wilderness.
I just HAVE to lean on Him alot more than I have been doing.
Jeez, don't I know it by now that I can't do ANYTHING without HIM?
Its about time my actions show that!!

Give "IT" no room; no place.

We must immediately deal with envy
when we feel it trying to creep into our hearts toward someone.
Walking in the love of God
and purposing to develop the fruit of the Spirit are also vital.
When you feel the enemy trying to attack you
with a spirit of envy,
 immediately rebuke it
and refuse to yield to it.

You know jealousy is the same type of thing; sometimes
we just don't recognize it by a different name.

Ready for a Radical thought?

Find the most dangerous,
selfish desire you have
and ask God to remove it.
Then start living your new life without it.

2 ENEMIES of Change:

One weapon Satan will use to stop you from changing is discouragement. He wants you to think you can't change, that it is impossible for you to let go of old habits. Don't believe him for a minute! Put your confidence in God and His Word. Believe what He has said about you, and know that when the Word is on the inside of you, you will be equipped to make decisions that keep you on the path
AND:
Also, realize fear is a foreign spirit that does not come from God. If you are ever afraid of something, you can have confidence that the fear is coming from Satan. A Christian’s reborn spirit does not produce fear, so if fear comes, it is an attack of the enemy against your soul.-

Had a "duh" moment

Or a Light bulb moment, whatever you want to call it!
Maybe Revelation, even.
It happened several days ago.
I had eaten and an hour later
I WAS HUNGRY!
Just didn't make ANY sense to me.
It had happened several times before.
Puzzling.
? What's going on ?
Drum roll please!
It wasn't physical hunger.
It was spiritual hunger.
I was spiritually hungry;
and no amount of natural food was gonna fill that.
No natural THING is going to fill a spiritual need.
How many times have I tried to do exactly that?
I think I need to thank Keith Moore because
he helped set off that revelation from something
he was teaching while on T.V.
I'd heard it before, its just that this time I REALLY heard it.
Now that I've REALLY heard it, I can do something WITH it.
Keith Moore

“Think about what your thinking about”

(Note to self: that's Good instruction!) That's been popping up ..Susan Good taught on that several years ago @ FCFC & that phrase STILL pops up every so often. Been hearing it more often lately, my mind has been a "busy" little place & not necessarily going about My Father's business. Time to take my thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ Jesus again & again!
Just being real here.  What I don't recognize I can't change.
Of course I can't change without Holy Spirit helping me either
but that's a given as far as I am concerned.

The Little Red Book of Wisdom - a good check of your moral compass

The Little Red Book of Wisdom
The Little Red Book of Wisdom by Mark DeMoss

This book is one written with facts and stories of people who applied wisdom and reached successes . He includes his own stories of growing in wisdom and the influences that surrounded him. He also shares stories of others who ignored it and paid dearly. The author demonstrates that to have knowledge is one thing but to apply it,truly is real wisdom. He has given examples of those who took what they thought were the easier path but those ways only ended in greater loss, disgrace and punishments. This book screams INTEGRITY . You must have it; protect it and be prepared that it will cost you but in the end its your moral compass and will protect and in the long run prosper you.

While not my favorite book to date, I did enjoy different parts of his book. I see the value in his writing these down, to bring people’s attention back to truth.; even biblical truths.
Its sad to see that it is necessary to point out, teach on, things that we once KNEW and have tossed aside as unimportant. Really sad, that it needed to be pointed out that we absolutely need to find time every day to just get quiet and THINK.  Some may say, how arrogant of him to write that, but I believe how brave of him to point out that basic truth. Master what you have been given, instead of it mastering you.
