Mirra and Silas were great protagonists. She loving him right off the bat , knowing that he's the one as soon as she sees him. Silas, a loner fights her and her family every step of the way. Her mother and sister are of course mermaids as well although only half mermaid, half human.  The husband and father was a full blooded merman. But he's dead and gone and their mother is all on her own except for her daughters, Jolee and Mirra. And the mermaid community and friends on land. But she's still lonely.

 Irma, the mother still feels grief over the loss of her loving husband. And in the next book, it promises a new long. I will be looking for that next book 6, " A Good Soul". 

I really enjoyed this audio version and would listen to more. The characters were easily portrayed by Amy Landon.  And I also enjoyed the supporting characters too !
