The Title and Subtitle give a very good look into what this book is about.. Signs and Wonders and how Jesus flipped Baptist Preacher, Chad Norris's World upside down. In his own words, he said " So my point in this book is this: I simply want to explore whether or not it is possible to operate on this planet in the way that Jesus commanded His disciples to operate."
He shares honestly and openly; the ups and downs he has gone through. He doesn't has all the answers and is quick to say so; also sharing that many of the things he experienced were way out of his comfort zone and made him uncomfortable because as he says, He's a baptist to the bone. His search for more of Jesus caused him to reach past that and ask the uncomfortable questions. Even some of the titles and sub-titles he used grab your attention. One of my favorite? "Believe or Follow"? Simple but powerful statements that cause you to think & even identify with some of the very same questions he asked.
Here's just a few questions put in my own words:
- If I'm a disciple of Jesus, then why aren't I doing what the disciples of the Early Church did?
- Because Jesus doesn't change, then doesn't he expect me to do the very same things his disciples did then?
- It can be strange and uncomfortable when you obey Jesus, but isn't it worth it?
- Am I just believing on Jesus or am I following Jesus and his ways?
- Why aren't the blind being healed, when I pray?
- When was the last time I was part of the dead being raised to life?
- Do I really believe that when I have seen Jesus in scripture I have also seen Father God who loves me?
- What does "normal" look like to a Christian who truly loves God and wants to walk closer with him?
- Why does it seem that our main focus is getting to Heaven; like its the ONLY thing?
- Why aren't we praying more about the Kingdom of God coming to earth; His will being done here?
- Are we limiting what we allow God to do through us?
I received this book free from the Chosen publisher through the Bethany House Publishers
