Book Review: a Matter of Trust

A Matter of Trust

Mia Quinn has her plate full, as she discovers more and more about her dead husband Scott's doings.  Add to that her 14 year old son, who is missing his father and  is without a male influence in the house; not a good mix. Plus her 4 year old daughter who is going through some kind of serious, terrifying trauma.  Oh and yes the shooting of a friend and colleague as she is speaking to her on the phone.  Stir in a little bit of political dramas, since she has to return to work as a prosecutor, financial stress and a not-totally -by the book detective who she has locked horns with before.  What could possibly go wrong?  There have been unsolved murders going on, could she be the next target?  Who can she trust?

I started reading this book later at night; BIG mistake!  Was because it was too scary for late night reading? No, its because I had just read through to Chapter 5 when I realized " I like this story and the way this writer writes!" And then I had to go to bed.  I could hardly wait to get back up and get back into the story.  With such a great start I was so hoping that it would continue on the good path that it started.  I was not disappointed, I totally loved the book. I hated it when I had to put it down to take care of other things.   Great writing style, great character development, great plot.  Not only was there the main theme of the book but there were also several other mysteries that had to be solved as the story unfolded. This is the first time I have read anything by Lis Wiehl  but I am now looking out for anything else she has written!  All I can say is " Bravo, a story well told!!"
