I had high hopes for this book. One of the main reasons was because of the unusual Emma. She was totally so different than you would expect in this story. Although you have been warned about some of her history in the book information. Still, she was beyond good (well when it comes to noticing things. And she kept me totally in her corner all the way. If only some of the government people had listened to her instead of just brushing her off. And some of the FBI were #1 in that area. They should have listened instead of using their brains for a place to put their hats!
Dean was someone who also captured the attention. Yes, he was a control freak and followed so many "rules." Of course he had broken a few rules of protocol in the past. But that was to save a woman. It was interesting to see him interact with Emma who has a whole lot LESS rules. The ones she does have she learned with her father and they are a whole different kind of "rules". It caused Dean to go from highly suspicious of Emma to seeing things about her that others had missed. That causes him to want more from her as romance between the two sparks.
This story is emotional, and kept me on my toes throughout. There were plenty of dangerous twists until the vicious killer is revealed and stopped. Great ending.
