Wow, what a story that was.  It started out intense and never let up.  Totally unpredictable when it came to what was going to happen next. Although the story does seem to be more thriller mystery with it being a bit lighter on romance. But it's so well written I just can't fault it for that ! Hey, they were trying to stay alive!

Chloe was smart, skilled and terrified as she tries to escape.  To keep out of the clutches of the person who wants her to die ..painfully. And that killer is smart, resourceful, ruthless and relentless.  Also someone who will kill anyone else who gets in his way.  It's too bad for Weston and his family who step up to help. There is definitely pain involved for them when they do.

Chloe and Weston begin to know each other and develop a friendship first as he tries to keep her safe.  She had been trying not to get too close to people in this town because she was pretty sure she was going to have to run again.  That was one of the things that had kept her alive so far.  But she's finding it harder and harder to leave.  And then adding in Weston, that made it worse for her running plan.

I have to give the author credit also because of how detailed, in a good way, that the story was.  You could almost feel yourself in the setting.  That was kind of scary but it was also set up to have the reader rooting for the "good guys" to win.

I was unprepared for the MAJOR twist that happens towards the end.  It brings even more danger to Chloe and Weston.  But the ending was worth it all.

" I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book,  and this is my honest opinion about it.
