**BOOK REVIEW- Her Renegade Cowboy (Moving Violations Book 3) by Lora Leigh

 He will risk his life…

The oh-so-proper school teacher, Lily Donovan has learned, the hard way, that men are not to be trusted. Period. Until Levi Roberts, the new cowboy working at her cousin's ranch, tempts her carefully-built resolve and awakens an all-consuming passion she thought lay dormant. But when she discovers his deadly secret, and her own secrets come to light, Lily unwittingly joins the lethal cat and mouse race between Levi and the man he’s been hunting for weeks.

To save her heart…

Former Ranger Levi Roberts has seen his fair share of deadly trouble during his years as a tough-as-nails operative. The ultimate expert in undercover investigations, he’s been tasked to find a man with a dangerous agenda in town. Routine work has been boring…until he runs into Lily, the prickly school teacher who tempts him like no other. Getting under her skin has been deliciously satisfying for his red-hot desire, but when Lily lands in the hands of the very man he’s been investigating, Levi will have to fight with every ounce of his heart and soul to save her—and to heal the heart he broke.

3.5 STARS

I liked both of the main characters. They were intense and interesting .  Lily was feisty and her sister Shay is even more so.  Shay's fierceness leads to at least one really funny confrontation. They both are "bold to the bone."  Even if Lily has had some of her courage dimmed somewhat.  Her secret has caused her to isolate herself to a certain degree.  Only a few people know what happened to her and that's how she wanted to keep it.  The secondary people are good ones and most care about keeping her safe.

It didn't take long to figure out Levi's secret although it did unfold well in the story.  Levi is solidly attracted to Lily from the first and Lily doesn't take long to be attracted too.  She does fight it though because her life is a dangerous mess.  I will say that it felt that there was a bit too much repetition about the fact that Levi didn't know how to be in a relationship.  Of course Lily admits the same.  Still too much time spent on that.  Also there is a ton of sex in the story.  Well done but more than I generally like.  But there is also tenderness and protectiveness as well, so that helps.

When the action kicks it, things do get interesting and lead to a pretty good ending.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book through Netgalley.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
