5 STARS
This story was outrageously good. It had action and mystery off the
charts intense and unpredictable. I did develop a suspicion about one
particular person being a baddie. But that didn't happen until ALMOST
the end of the book. And there was more involved than I had originally
guessed. I enjoyed that a lot.
I just have to also mention how much I liked both Lani and Jake. Lani could cop an attitude like no one else but it was to guard a tender heart. It was her armor; sarcastic snark. She was also so tired of people just leaving her, not being trustworthy or dependable. Jake really had his hands full when it came to dealing with her. He had no luck at all when it came to try to keep her out of any investigations. Especially the one that killed her twin sister. Gail.
I was very satisfied with how everything ended. Villains uncovered and dealt with and hope for the future.
