A short story about life on Mars in the near future.
After an accident leaves Lucilla with multi-colored artificial eyes, she is shunned by society and her boyfriend rejects her. She flees to Mars as one of the scientists observing the terraforming of the planet. When disaster strikes, she can expect no help from Earth. This story was unique and felt like it was packed more than a short story usually is. I really liked it and it kept me involved.
I liked Lucilla fairly early on and wanted to know how things were going to go for her.
The world building was excellent and the ending was sweet.
There is also bonus material from "Europa Book #1 of Taxyon Space that was "wow". It made me want to follow up on this story too.
