“A satirical look at the "beautiful, wealthy and unsatisfied.'”People Magazine

A darkly funny, razor sharp plunge into America’s most perfect town, where privilege, sex, scandal, and murder lurk beneath a flawless veneer, from #1 New York Times bestselling author James Frey.

Behind every great fortune, lies a great crime.
- Honoré de Balzac

New Bethlehem, Connecticut. Picture-perfect lawns, manicured hedges, multi-million dollar homes. But beneath the designer yoga gear and country club memberships lies a darker reality.

In this world of excess, Devon and Belle have it all—beauty, money, status. But they want something more. Something dangerous. Something that makes them feel alive. Their solution? A party—a meticulously curated gathering of New Bethlehem’s elite, from a desperate ex-NFL quarterback to a hockey coach with a penchant for married women, and a ruthless Wall Street “closer” who wields his wealth like a weapon.

One night. Multiple betrayals. And a murder that will shatter New Bethlehem’s carefully constructed facade.

Fans of "The White Lotus" and "Big Little Lies" will be drawn into the dark underbelly of the American Dream – a world where money can buy anything, until it ruins everything.

Fair warning, this book contains:
- Betrayal
- Murder
- An ultra-elite swingers party
- Spectacularly badly-behaved rich people

MY REVIEW NOTES - 5 STARS TITLED: CLEVER, ROMANCE WITH MURDER

I've never read anything like this story. It was wild !! It starts out tame enough in the beginning . But then...

It starts out with Devon and Billie's part of the story. She dated a lot of important people, movies star, son of a billionaire, a tech founder to mention a few. But she needed to marry not for love but money. Her parents were ruthless in their demand that she do so to keep THEM In the style that they were accustomed to !  Billie turned out to be an abusive, violent but sexually and financially,  EXTREMELY RICH man who just kept gathering more and more wealth and more and more enemies !

Belle and her man have their backstory next  which is pretty interesting. Devon and Belle are best friends and each one of them HATE Billie with a passion.

Then more people are added and there stories which at first was kind of confusing to me but as I continued it flowed.  With each person's story filled in so fully and well written  I was twisting in turning when it came to "Who is gonna get murdered?" I was guessing right and left and I enjoyed that mystery. And when it finally happened, what things really ramped up and the ride got wild.

I kept thinking how does this author know so much about the exotic drugs, weapons and come up with 2 phones; one named Peace and the other one named, War. So clever !

There are several shocking turn of events that I never saw coming. I loved that and was thoroughly thrilled with the ending !! I smiled for quite a while after reading this book !

UPDATE ON THE AMAZON REVIEW ABOUT THE AUDIO VERSION OF THIS BOOK:

And on the audio book, I suddenly realized how much the author used the F word !  But the narrator did a get job. And there was a surprise long interview with the author and the narrator. It was a surprisingly great interview although it became clear real quick how much the F words were actually a part of James Frey's speak patterns.  Still, a great book though !

POWERFUL. Encouraging, sad, with an over coming attitude and a vast amount of support.

In the back of the book was also a list of resources for those needing help while going through the scary journey of cancer. So truthful too. She said to prepare to lose friends. And I have. She also talked briefly about the Red Devil chemo treatment and she spoke honestly about it. Things have changed since she wrote this book but not that much really. Not the emotions, and not the challenges.
It's a book well worth reading even if you think "It could never happen to me!" Oh, yes it can !

MY REVIEW- 5 STARS-

A GREAT ANGST ROMANCE (title)

Both Ace and  Violet were outstanding people both in their personalities, their struggles and their business smarts. I liked them both even Ace who Violet often said that he was an arrogant ass. And he was ! He even out right admitted that he was! Not likeable at all at times. But things started to turn and I was liking that ! Beginning to even like Ace too ! Violet was easy to love. And I was rooting for her right from the start !

I also liked Ace's sister Sunny and her husband Blake.  They and their young daughter added a lot to the story. So did the back stabbing business settings that Ace and Violet worked in and were trying to thrive it. It was heartbreaking in how they tried to stay away from each other. There is a lot of humor at times that I liked a lot.

The ending made me smile from ear to ear !

My Review 5+ STARS  Don't mess with Trixie and Family
I totally loved this story and Trixie. what a gal!  Her partner, Jay who she skipped out on for 13 years was such a great guy. She left the CIA on the run to protect their daughter Kit. They were a great match as they worked things out and tried to learn to live again. Together.  Kit only met Jay two months before and they also were working things out and it was going good.  Kit and her friends Char and new friend Meg were so much fun and teamed up to get Kit her dog.  Kit has her eye on Dinky, a young, large black Lab. Trixie is consistent in saying, No! repeatedly.  Often without looking up when Jay and Kit try to change her mind ! It was hilarious.
Kit wanted one in the worst way and everyone was kinda ganging up on Trixie to  see that they got one. It was hilarious.
I didn't get to read Book 1 yet but now I want to because there were also some other great characters that played a big part in the assignment, searches and rescues. And it was mentioned that they were know from past escapades !

Oh, to stop the voices in her head.

Other people's voices, that is. As a pub owner with an extra special gift, all Cait Gallagher craves is a moment of silence. That, and to own the building her pub is housed in along with the heart of the building's landlord, Shane MacAuliffe. Though she is irresistibly drawn to Shane, her vulnerabilities cause her to put up a tough exterior. When the two butt heads, more than sparks fly, and Cait finds herself trembling on the precipice of love.

Shane has watched Cait for years. Stubborn, beautiful, and with a trim body that he is dying to get his hands on, Cait is it for him. And yet, she continues to infuriate him by walking away from his kiss. Every time. At his wits' end, Shane doesn't know what to do to make Cait his own.
Unapologetic and fiercely proud, Cait must conquer her insecurities and reveal her true self to Shane or face losing everything.

MY REVIEW- 4 STARS TITLED: Humor, Misunderstandings and Magic

I enjoyed it although it wasn't my favorite.

A good book that  I enjoyed. Shane was often misunderstood by Cait not only because he was her rich landlord but because she often caused him to be rough  when speaking to her. He tried so hard to be good to her and get her to like him. But more than once the word "Stupid" crossed his lips.   He's pursuing and she's running. Often with the cruel words of her mother echoing in her head, that Cait just isn't and will never be enough.

Fiona a local healer loves Cait and does her best to help her. She is fierce has a great sense of humor and isn't afraid of anyone.  Her attitude was like me or not. This is who I am. Fiona is trying to teach Cait more about her history and her gifts.  And sometimes to give her a kick in the butt when needed.

Cait doesn't realize how many people like and care about her.  A young man that works for her has a crush on her. Patrick adds some humor to the story as he works for her in the pub. He was sweet and protective when needed.

There is plenty of humor and some heat to this story. All of which I enjoyed,

Her best friend, Aislinn  has her back and can tell how Cait is every time she sees her.  And meets Baird, someone interesting during this story. There is an excerpt of their story at the end of this book called, "Wild Irish Soul."

MY REVIEW- 5 STARS, They fell in love quickly in a charming village

Maisie , I fell in love with her almost instantly.  West and her together were a hoot. And her  best friend Sophie and Lachlan was her best friend's fiancee. The wish that Maisie made at the wishing stones caused so many problems. Not exactly she was hoping for. Maisie  was so competitive and likes to be in charge ALL the time. Too bad West isn't going to get her way ALL the time.  He does meet her half way, at times giving in but he's also masterful with her. Telling her, I'm in charge this time. There will be touching in this story.  And suggestive words of love and actions from West.

WEST- what a hot professor, he was also a calm, confident appearing man from California with glasses. His best friend Matthew was a charming, funny man who has known and has had West's back for years. West had been hurt so many times before but when he spotted Maisie , things began to change for him. She was sassy, sarcastic with him and he loved their debating or bickering which was a better word for it.  I loved that the story included a smart man, who was also awkward at times and wore glasses, He wasn't afraid of her competitive nature, they thrived on it. One of my favorite thoughts by Maisie  was "He looked at her like a gift to be unwrapped." She thought her gifts were non- existant but West saw her.  And the hysterically funny sweatshirts that they scary older woman of the village kept giving him.  The name they were called was, the book bitches.  The latest one, is shown on the cover. "Chillin Snowmies" Hilarious !! West had a surprising affinity with animals, like tiny, aggressive Sir Buster.  It surprised West, Maisie  and all the others ! And it made for some funny times also with the ghost Coo, Clyde.

Great humor and the voices of the narrators were over the top phenomenal. They were a great choice. They made it so easy to visualize things and people as they were described. They pulled me into this great story. Even when it came to the sound effects that were so good. I liked the Coo.  And I loved the cover. There was a wonderful finish to Maisie  and West's story !
Now I want to read Graham's story. To be honest, I've wanted to read this womanizers story for some time. I do believe he has had his eye on one particular woman all along !

MY REVIEW- 5+ STARS/ TITLED: Finally Matteo's Story.

Great story with outstanding main characters. I've been wanting to read Matteo's story for some time.  I enjoyed his mafia character who only killed when he had to. Only in self-defense or when his boss ordered him to kill.  But he certainly didn't enjoy it.
Viktor was another powerful mafia boss who was so obsessed with killing his rivals who he felt had continually disrespecting. Even though he was tired of war, he just wasn't going to stop. His wife and daughter were also very tired of the war but still couldn't get him to stop.  Even when his beautiful daughter gets "kidnapped" he continues on his rampage. What's going to get him to stop? Certainly not Matteo although Matteo does try to get him to stop.
Enter Connor, an Irish mobster. Although  Julia calls him Monster. And he sure proves out to be one !!!
Julia what a great girl turned woman she turned out to be I loved her and the backbone that she found. Also there were several other women who find their backbone to try to stop the wars.  One of them is Viktor's own wife and I loved her too !
The ending was something that was something that I loved as well.
There is also another peek into a story that sounded awesome.

Not to witness a violent mafia interrogation…
And definitely not to end up locked inside Gabriel Ricci’s penthouse.

He touches me like I’m already his.
Kisses me like he owns every gasp I try to hide.
And when he finally claims me, there’s no room for air—only moans and surrender.

I swore I’d resist. I swore I’d run.
But his control is addictive.
And I’m already burning for him.

Then he uncovers a traitor inside his empire.
A turf war erupts—and I become the bait.

MY REVIEW-  5 stars title: Intense from the Start

Who is this woman ???? And I'm not just talking about Elena.  She's the Heroine of the story ! Well, maybe she's a heroine. But Sophia Vale, who is this woman and how did she learn how to write stuff like this? Because, wow. It's good !  Scary good. And the romance? Hot and Intense!

It all starts with an intense courtroom encounter. Scary Gabriel Ricci is Elena's courtroom opponent. And he's not only tough, but whip smart and dangerous !

I loved how both of them got to share their individual points of views. Super good, revealing and as time goes on even more scary.  But it didn't stop me from pulling for both of them, even with all the violence and death. They had a true love for each other. And there were crews of people against them, not only not willing for them NOT to succeed but also wanting to kill them both.  But not to worry there are also people trying to protect them, Like Marc and Luca. However there are some questions about are they really loyal to them and only them? The intense struggles were written so well.

One of my favorite phrases (and there were a bunch of them) was : She turned into fury in flesh, a Queen !

Shocking, intense betrayals keep me all the way in to the end. And I believe it will others as well !!  But don't be deceived, there will be violence. There will be death & blood.  Who will make it out alive? You'll be surprised about that !

MY REVIEW-  5+ STARS If someone  you love hurts you build a bridge & get over it

The red fox opens the story and his part in the story is a hoot !
Aisling  O'Mara- The Peacemaker. At all costs, so many times to her hurt. Clever and efficient running the Guesthouse but not so clever with men. Enter the future  fiance, Marcus McDonagh, who everyone pretty much hated on sight. But Aisling is about to get a backbone ! Because she has friends like Leila, her best friend and Quinn. Quinn  is also Aisling's  best friend. He is the chef of his very own Bistro. And her constantly maker her great food. To keep her healthy and comforted, as a friend you know? He often conveyed that.   Does he want to be more than a friend? It sure looks like he might want to be.
There are flashback before Aishing's fiance, and to current times but they are seamless and don't distract from reading the story.
Patrick O'Mara was absolutely NO help to the family at all. He was a "chancer". Their mom Maureen O'Mara thought he could do no wrong. And she's a bold, kinda waka- doodle woman. But Aisling  and her  sister,  Moira knew better. He was just out for himself. First. Last. And Always ! It's also ironic that Moira was so judgemental because she was lazy and selfish. That led to some FUN conversations for everyone  ! Rude and funny ! Yes, there is hurt in this story but there is also a HUGE amount of humor that often had me laughing out loud !  Or shaking my head. Michelle Vernal really knows how to write to wring your emotions and get you into this story. I also adored the Irish lingo and learned some cute Irish words that I might be using. There is a couple of Irish curse words that weren't too hard to figure out. But they don't try to take over the story. Good.
Roisin is the older sister, who is mainly absent from the guesthouse because she's married and living her best life with her husband and son, Noah.
A guest, Miss Una Brennan, turned out to be a VERY interesting person.  We got to hear her backstory about her love for fiance Leo Greene and how everything had gone so wrong ! Things were still broken between her twin sister, Aideen and Una. Even more interesting.
I loved how Aisling  looked at people and inside her head gave them nicknames and how she mentally Did a, "Dear Aisling " column signed to Me.  Hysterically funny and at times a little sad.
The ending in this book was so special that I adored it.
Next book is centered mainly on Moira's story because at the end of this book there is a peek into that new book called, "Moira Lisa Smile" I love that clever title.
P.S. I did have trouble spelling and typing the name,P.S. I did have trouble spelling and typing Aisling's name for some odd reason. I kept misspelling it and even now I'm not sure I got it right, lol! . But that still didn't put me off !

     -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Additional Notes;

    RUSH perfume bu Gucci

Una gets advice from Aisling and as time goes on things turn around and Una gives her advice. They turn into best friends. Una's sister gets diagnosed with Breast Cancer  and didn't do anything until it had advanced until the thought it was too late. She does seek treatment and things look good.

    A. has strawberry blond mop, green eyes and a smattering of freckles and she's short but she sure loves her shoes the higher the better. She gets some looks from a few guests about her wearing those shoes. And going up all those stairs to the 2nd floor where she lived with her sister Moira.  Her sisters had dark hair and olive skin tone.

     Book Cover

Thanks for joining my ARC team.  I appreciate your leaving your honest and voluntary review on Amazon and you will be provided a link once my book is released.

    Much appreciated,

    Nicki Dohrn

Eileen McParland, a socially awkward university professor, travels to Ireland to explore its historic castles. What begins as a simple getaway turns into a chilling mystery when she notices strange occurrences and unsettling interactions among the castle’s guests. After a young employee, Leah, disappears. The whispers of ancient folklore and a haunting melody tied to the castle’s history seem all too real to ignore.

As the days tick by, Eileen realizes that someone—or something—has a dark agenda, and the clock is running out. With each passing hour, the mystery grows more twisted, and Eileen finds herself drawn to Tom, a brooding psychologist and musician whose own troubled past seems entwined with the castle’s secrets. The attraction between them deepens, but so does her suspicion. Could Tom’s hidden wounds be linked to Leah’s disappearance—or is he hiding something far worse?

With a quirky detective trailing behind, the investigation races against time. As the countdown continues, Eileen must uncover the truth before the darkness claims her, too. But the closer she gets to the answers, the more she wonders if she’ll survive to tell the tale.

    MY REVIEW- 5 STARS

The beautiful cover made me stop and take a look at this book and I was intrigued.  It wasn't like anything that I was expecting it to be. At the Preface, I have to admit I went, "huh?".  As I began to sort out who was who, I found I loved it. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
Professor Eileen McParland meets Connor Rourke first. And as people begin to meet each other in the castle, they begin to experience uneasiness. The Castle was alive and it wasn't a good thing !I enjoyed the separate points of view from each guest.
There are threats, creepy stuff, trap doors, cryptic messages,  unexplained disappearances, fear, betrayals and love.
    And who is Ciaran?
And there are  a lot of surprises and secrets that want to be kept buried but get exposed.
Stunning ending that is bittersweet but also filled with hope and humor.  And maybe even the hope of another book.

My favorite phrase in the book was about the castle. It give you what you came for but not how you expect. Yep, that does pretty much describes the whole book and it's adventures !

Four friends became three. Only murder will set things right.

An emotional "what would you do?" thriller debut about revenge, the bonds of friendship, the reverberations of a small-town crime, and the limits of justice.

Peter Miles has to die. And Dylan Darcy, Priya Shah, and Isabel Guerrero—a bartender, a nurse, and a student—have to be the ones to kill him. As they see it, this local cop deserves death for murdering their best friend and getting away with it. All they need to do to pull off the perfect crime is stick to their carefully prepared plan.

So that's exactly what they do. Murder, it turns out, is surprisingly easy when you're fueled by revenge. What comes after is the hard part.

As the dry Texas heat gives way to cooler weather, their blazing rage is replaced by a chill fear. Because there’s a fallout that comes from settling the score against someone like Peter, and it could cost them more than they’ve bargained for. When the lead investigator on the case starts sniffing around for a cop-killer, the three friends are not feeling as confident as they did on that fateful night. And when they start receiving death threats, it weakens their resolve even further . . . but it’s too little too late.

What they don’t realize is that this detective has her own reasons for wanting to get to the bottom of Peter's murder. Reasons that don’t involve them at all. The investigation ramps up, and so does the pressure, leaving Dylan, Priya, and Isabel to wonder if ending his life may end up costing them theirs.

As the guilt of what they've done settles in their bones, they realize there's no going back. Someone is going to have to take the fall.

Rebecca Grant was murdered ! Her best friends know it ! It's a cold case now.  And the Chief wants it solved pronto. And he doesn't seem to really care who did it. No one seems to care who the victim, Rebecca really was ! But her friends do ! Now, they have a conflict of interest !  They wanted to pay Miles,  they just don't want it to be them. They begin to have regrets about the murder but not right away. But the chief wants it solved now and off his desk pronto. Its a mess he says. He has NO idea just HOW messy it's about to become. Enter Detective Bree Righetti  and her partner Detective Mike O'Malley.  Totally opposites but both interesting in their different personalities and police methods. Loved them. Especially how Mike didn't' try to sexualize her, look down on her or dismiss her.  He has sworn off new tech, like his pager which does make things more difficult.  Unlike fellow Detective Taylor who was  in their squad room.He didn't mind making things more difficult for Bree. No sure, not one bit.  I disliked him right away. And the author did such a good relating of Bree's distaste and how I felt about him too ! That's not easy to do.
BOTH Bree and Mike each hold interesting secrets and I liked how over time they unfolded. This is a Serious story. Hey, it's a Murder. But it's also got some Humor in it too.
There are several recurring good questions that pop up the story. Like, "Is Bree a friend or not?"  Several good reasons for this question too ! This intense story just keeps going in the best way and never let me go. Speaking of intense. Dylan Darcy. Intense, controlling, smart and secretive. Wow, what a lethal combo. I didn't like her at first. But as things began to unfold more, I liked her, sympathized with her and over her. I didn't want her to get caught ! I didn't want any of them to get caught !!!
There is an infrequent flash back to the 1990's which at first I found confusing but it didn't take too long to think, Oh I get it now. It's The Before and After in the story. Each person shares there own point of view in the book. And it was needed and emotional and intense also.
The ending comes with  STUNNING TWISTS. Emotional, tearful, and I think I just might have to read it again to catch some of the subtle parts of the story.
In the end I loved it !

ADDITIONAL NOTES NOT ADDED TO MY REVIEW  :
I LIKED HOW MIKE BROUGHT BREE coffee each morning at work along with food because he was worried about her and to feed her to make up for all the weight she lost and was losing.
(AKA BREE LIKE THE CHEESE WAS HOW SHE WAS NICKNAMED BY SOME)

     I wasn’t looking for forever.
Especially not with the town’s new nurse who stirs up more trouble than I can handle.
Jessie King is stubborn, wild, and too beautiful for my peace of mind.
I told myself we were just fun.
    A dance here.
    A kiss there.
But then she showed up on my doorstep in the middle of the night…
    And I realized she wasn’t a fling.
    She was everything.
Problem is, I broke the one thing she doesn’t give easily—trust.
Now it’s up to me to prove there’s no one else I want to come home to.
Even if it means risking the heart I swore I'd never put on the line again.

While part of the Woodbrook series, Pete and Jessica's story is a standalone romance.

MY REVIEW- 5 STARS Title: OFF THE CHARTS GOOD !!

I loved the dual POV'S of Jessica and Pete. I loved all the "sparkling" conversations between them. Funny and at times intense. At least Jessica was intense, lol. I loved how Pete had developed a "love",for limeade. Jessica, smirks and is arrogant with Peter, repeating over and over that SHE is the nurse, so Pete get out of my way ! I may be new in town but I work at a clinic here and I know my job!! Pete is the calm guy in the story ! He just lets her steam and work it out . I loved that and the fact that you could just tell there was more to Pete than she saw at first glace. ! When she found out he was a hairdresser by profession? Oh, boy ! She let him have it !!
Jessica is the Firecracker as he often tells her. It's funny ! Pete was adorable, calm, multi-skilled and not easy to offend. But trust me, Jessica finds a way ! And finally hurts him in a big way ! He walks away. This is not the first misunderstanding that they've had but this one is huge. So big that the town is almost placing bets on are they on or off as a couple ! The emotions throughout the book are great, the angst and then this last blowup kept me even more dialed into the story.
Their friend Paisley and her Greek fiance, were front and center in the story with them and I loved the interactions. And not to forget Helen, Nick's Greek mother. She doesn't speak English? Jessica is beginning to think that's not he case. At one point even calls her a sly fox. Helen quickly became one of my favorites after we got through her crusty exterior. It was funny how NO ONE dared cross her. Her son, Nick was a BILLIONAIRE and he still never said NO to her. It got Hysterically funny ! Especially when Helen became the silent(?) unwanted matchmaker between Jessica and Pete !

The ending was spectacular. There is also a preview of "Falling for the Coach". Oh no. Now I want to read that one too !

MY REVIEW- 5 STARS TITLE : OUTSTANDING from start to finish

Silver Song. The beauty of that title and the eBook cover first drew me to it. And it wasn't long to see how it was the perfect title for this book. Loved the book, the people, and how much thought and details were put into this story. It really did tug on the emotions and I didn't want to put the book down until I finished it.  What a great ove story between a young soldier, Gareth and a beautiful young woman of the island named Karrah. They were of two different nations, two different races and cultures but how beautiful was their relationship as it began to develop and throughout their very dangerous adventures. I enjoyed also seeing them struggling to learn each others language. Foreign to them. There is bigotry, hatred and love and those that helped them even though there were dangerous enemies from the soldier's invading country. They were also very well fleshed out as human beings.  too. One of those helpers that I loved was Attla,  the Captain of Silver Song, who was totally on Gareth's side . He put himself at great risk and was a delight !

The Horsemen when they enter into the story are impressive and so is their details of their bearing, armor honor and the fierceness of their fight. And as  time goes on a deeper look into the love of their family, land and their culture.

There is also a 4 Chapter look into the next book, " War's Ending" that continues the story and I just have to get it on Amazon.

This author did an Awesome job and I'm keeping this book, for sure !

BOOKSPROUT/BODY OF EVIDENCE (Rain City Legal #6) BY STEPHEN PENNER

     Body of Evidence

ALWAYS SEND TO MY EMAIL AND I SEND TO AMAZON & IT GETS APPROVED

    You can’t bury the truth.

Seattle Attorney Daniel Raine is hired by one Jim Carpenter who has been charged with a cold case murder.

A body has been discovered, buried under Carpenter’s business. When the remains are identified as a missing girl who was responsible for the DUI death of his own daughter, he instantly becomes the prime suspect.

It’s a clear case of a grief-stricken father out for revenge.

Believing Carpenter’s vehement protestations of innocence, Raine sets out to find out what really happened on that fateful day ten years ago.

But the case gets increasingly difficult as Raine finds himself battling a power-hungry prosecutor with an eye on higher office.

Even worse, all the witnesses seem to have something to hide, and as he digs for the truth, Raine has to fight through a tangled web of secrets and lies.

A web that will soon turn deadly…

MY REVIEW- TITLED:  EXCELLENT-  10+ stars I Want to read it again !

The first chapter has a good opening and then it just keeps on getting better and better ALL the time ! Daniel Raine is the best.  I loved him and Detective Adams to name a few because there were several other really good characters too.  And that "weak" but power hungry prosecutor,  Thompkins makes for an interesting opponent. At least, Daniel seems to think so. Daniel likes winning and he's clever and kinda sneaky.  Enter in Detective Adams who seems to know what shes doing and she's really good at her job.  Now. Manny Lutz, the new owner of the leveled property?  I didn't like him from the start.   HE seemed to be dumb as a box of rocks ! Or is he? Not going to answer any of those questions. Or share anything else. Because, why ruin it for others?  No spoilers from me!! The author wrote an excellent book !

I got  a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my  review.

BOHEMIAN CROCHET SCARF/Maya Kuzman-Little Treasures BLOG

Ladies, sharpen your hooks. The weekend is upon us and this is a wonderful project to tackle. This surely makes a great Christmas gift you'd want to give a try.

    Supplies:

    * 5 skeins of different color and size of yarn (I know there are only 4 in the pictures, but I used 5) ranging from sport to chunky yarn

    * relevant hooks - I used 2 sizes: 7.00 & 3.00 mm

Optional: if you want to recreate the looks of my boho scarf, you will need all kinds of different ribbons. I used crochet, lace and sateen ribbons to decorate the fringed edging with the coral/burgundy scarf and also to weave through the blue/beige scarf.

To make this scarf we are going to use the Larksfoot / Icicle Stitch. The pattern uses multiples of 4.

Measurements of the tutorial scarf: 52.4"/133 cm in length and 7.9" / 20 cm in width.

    Length of fringes: 6.7" / 17 cm.

Important: change color for each new row.

    Pattern:
    Foundation: ch 181
Row 1:dc in 4th st from hook (makes the 2nd dc), then 1dc, ch1, sk1, 3dc. Leave a long tail - do this for every row.

    Row 2: {insert new yarn} repeat row 1.
To start it, ch 3 (counts as the 1st dc) and 2 dc in the next 2 sts.  Continue making these sets of 3 dcs.

    Row 3: {insert new yarn}
Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc + 1 ch), sk 1, 1dc (over the 3rd dc in the row below), 1 elongated dc (encompassing the space of this and the row below it), 1 dc in the next stitch. This is the pattern for this row.

ended row 3 by making the first dc of the larksfoot stitch (look closely at the picture). So whatever stitch number you choose (for the foundation) do not get confused if it ends differently (and it certainly will) – you just follow the pattern and be fine wherever it ends.

    Mind the next row, though.

Row 4: repeat row 2 (mind how you finished). As you can see from the picture, I chained 4 and repeated row 2 across.

    Row 5: repeat row 3

The repetition of rows 2 and 3 as well as the different yarn sizes makes this scarf greatly textured and appealing.

When you finish the scarf you are left with long tails. Now, you can weave these or tie ones next to one another together because we are going to make fringes which are going to cover these.

Add fringes of the same color as in the row, so the edging comes natural.

You can leave the scarf with the fringes only or add a bit of glam to it. Cut, place and pin to your own liking the arrangement of ribbons. Using a sewing thread and needle, secure these ribbons by sewing them onto the edge of the scarf. For the blue scarf I weaved the ribbons through.

Add bohemian pom-poms. Tutorial for them here.
