BOOK REVIEW- His Child by Dolores Fossen*

FATHER…HUSBAND? …STRANGER! After being abducted and artificially inseminated, Jessie Barrett was in danger and running for her life. And the one man she could turn to for answers was Jake McClendon-the biological father of her unborn child. In the midst of their clandestine investigation to uncover the conspiracy behind her kidnapping, Jessie was unwittingly drawn to the sexy Texas rancher. She knew she should keep her distance and safeguard her heart, but all she wanted was to kiss him senseless. Except when he insisted they pretend to be man and wife so he could protect her, her defenses started to crumble. Now the ultimate challenge was to keep from falling in love with the father of her baby!  AMAZON LINK

4 STARS

This story had a good plot.  It also had two good people in an unusual situation.  Not your usual set of problems either.

One person that I didn't like was Douglas.  He was Jake's brother-in law and his campaign manager.  He had a bossy, controlling, nasty attitude with just about everybody.  I felt bad for Jake when he put up with some of the stuff that Douglas did.  It made me angry on his behalf.  It also made him look bad and I was looking for Jake to grow a backbone when dealing with him.  It also made me question whether or not he was a good guy in the end or not. Or was he just a power hungry guy?

There is a dramatic ending  followed by a good H.E.A.  Though it was well written I can't say that it is a favorite .
