Book Review: The Future of Worship, eBook

The Future of Worship: Preparing the Church for a Tsunami of Change

Worship is in the midst of change and its going to hit like a Tsunami.  The way we worship in church is being examined and found wanting.  Why?  It has been more concerned with things that have little to do with God and His presence and more with empty performance.
The pattern of the original design of worship from the Bible is examined along with Nathan Byrd's experiences with Holy Spirit as he goes through this process of learning; how God first set it up.  There were 4 words that began his journey;  Tabernacle,Temple,Synagogue, and Sanctuary.  The whole purpose of the book is to go to the Higher Ground of worshiping God; and giving God what he wants.

As the author explains: " Having spent the past forty years walking in salvation, there have been many days that I've felt cheated by the experiences of the past that did not yield a more tangible experience with the Presence. Most of my church experiences have been superficial in that they were mostly acquainted with a “feeling” or an attempt to get something from God by my praise and worship, rather than the simple joy of being in His presence for fellowship and His pleasure. My experiences were also diminished because there was never a tangible place or symbol of His presence, just people and pulpits or stages that were the centerpiece of my attention during worship."  I found that statement alone to be a pretty accurate experience that many of us have gone through as we searched for the "more" of God.  There is hope as people read and hopefully experience all that God has for them in the area of true worship.

I received this book FREE from Destiny Image Publishes in exchange for a review.
