Revelation Thought for the Day

This came from a book I'm reading;
Its called Five Wishes by Gay Hendricks
NOW, its NOT a book that I'm recommending
because he comes from some spiritual theories
I do NOT agree with. But that said-
the  thing he pointed out in human nature was worth the read.
There were 5 Questions that He talked about; I might talk about that later
but this is what got my attention:
Basically we hit a spot where we are enjoying ourselves; having good feelings having good feelings-
- then a pattern shows up-  and he began to questions:
What if the good feeling itself had given rise to the scramble
of anxious thoughts that flooded my mind?
Did I have an upper limit of how good I could let myself feel
before bringing myself back down?
Did I have an arsenal of strategies-arguments, worry thoughts, illness-
that I unconsciously used to bring myself down when I exceeded my thermostat setting
for how good I could let myself feel?
That brought other new possibilities to mind.
Maybe alot of the arguments, upsets & other unpleasant events
didn't have anything to do with the events themselves they were all just ways we blocked the flow of good feels & love. But why?
Why would we stop ourselves from feeling good?
Because we didn't think we deserved to feel love.
And most important, we sabotaged our good feelings because
we simply didn't have much practice feeling good for any substantial  length of time.
The History of humanity as well as our own personal histories teaches us alot
about adversity & how to deal with it but very little about how to feel good & maintain that feeling!
