Called..a Woman? Yes, you are called!
Called Magazine
Sometimes ... God will allow us to lose every support system, while we learn to rely solely on Him! – He wants our trust and sense of security to be in Him –– not our jobs, not people, not our money, not human-relationships, not our reputations ... nothing and no one, but Him.

"This Thing of Ours" by Cammy Franzese- Gritty Faith
“ This Thing of Ours:
How Faith Saved My Mafia Marriage”
By Cammy Franzese
This is a story of Michael, a handsome man with a kind, generous, magnetic personality and a young woman Cammy, who was innocent and somewhat naive. Michael was everything she had hoped for and she allowed herself to see him as her Knight in Shining Armor. This story is told from the wife’s perspective with her being very open about her dysfunctional childhood and her blindness to all of the warning signs of what marriage to Michael would be like. She just never put it together until much later that he really was a part of the Mafia and that it would play a large part in their lives together. It is a story of true love; but in the real world; with all the challenges of staying together and raising their children; sometimes together but also with large portions of times when Michael was away in prison. God got them through but you also see the struggles they went through until they really relied on Him.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Why? Not only was the story excellent but the threads of living your faith every day was there in much of the writing. It was real and at times gritty.
She expressed the times she doubted, questioned, feared; and wondered if God was really there with her; something that most of us can identify with. While not a book for children to read; I believe many people would benefit from reading this book if they would look in and see the influence of Cammy’s mother‘s faith and how it was handed down to her daughter. Her mother like the author said, was a prayer warrior; her answer was to pray over everything; to keep loving people and to pray people into the kingdom of God; to trust God. And then her mother lived it; taking full responsibility for the choices she made and not taking the “easy way” out of things. It was helpful to see another person give examples of what her daily walk of faith with God looked like!

Nearing Home by Billy Graham - Its okay but slightly depressing .
Nearing Home: Life, Faith and Finishing Well” by Billy Graham.
As the title suggests Billy Graham is writing about looking at how we finish our race. He has given many wisdom's about dealing with limitations that this part of life can bring. Also included are wise preparations that people need to look at and not just ignore. Some of these things are spiritual inheritances that we want to leave to the next generations but also practical financial and daily living matters. Although its written with these things in mind; Billy Graham also brings younger people into the picture and includes stories and insights to benefit them as well. And of course he also writes passionately about the need for Jesus Christ /Salvation. Not to just know about Jesus but to model our lives upon that example.
Those who are older in age would probably benefit the most by this book. But I also believe that there is something for the younger as well. In one section he points out that our instant technological society with all its gizmo's while its a plus in some ways; its also made “Patience a lost virtue”. I hadn’t really heard it expressed quite that way before. And if you are a follower of what Billy Graham has accomplished through following Jesus, it would be a worthy addition to your Library. I liked that fact that scripture was placed strategically in his writings. On that note, I do have to admit there were times, I also felt that it was kind of depressing. I’m trying to be fair though; so that might have had more to do with the subject matter and which side of the age issue I’m on.

Stability is Important for Leaders
Notes from August 2011 Enjoying Everyday Life Magazine
By Joyce Meyer
from Leader's Edge: Are you an Emotional Yo-Yo?
(Bits & pieces of the Article)
At the time I felt that everything in my life was caving in on me. there were problems at the office,
problems in the home, problems everywhere I looked.
I thought, I want to get out of here!
( She wanted to run away) But I knew I shouldn't do that because I am a leader, and leaders do not run away from things they don't like. They stay & deal with them- because they have stability, aka self-control.
Before we talk about why stability is important, let's define it.
Webster's II New College Dictionary defines
stability as l. Resistance to sudden change, dislodgement, or overthrow.
2. a. Constancy of character or purpose: STEADFASTNESS b. Reliability, dependability."
If you have stability, you do what is right when it feels good & when it doesn't feel good- you pray when you feel like it AND you pray when you don't feel like it. You give despite your feelings- and you give not just when you want to give, but what God is encouraging you to give.
According to the scripture Galatians 5:22-23 ( The Amplified Bible gives it more meaning) self control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. If you want to be a leader, you must be able to control yourself.
Leaders have to discipline themselves & stay in control. They have to be able to recognize when they are going in the wrong direction & make the appropriate corrections themselves without someone else having to do it for them.
Anyone can acquire stability; it is not limited to those in ministry. In the end, its imperative not only for a good leader but for every person to develop stability because God wants to do more with your life than you could ever imagine.
**** I recommend you try to look up & read the rest of the article if possible.

Healing is a Choice By Stephen Arterburn- A Heavy Read
Healing is a Choice: Ten Decisions that will Transform your Life & Ten Lies that can Prevent you from Making them.
by Stephen Arterburn.
This is a Serious Workbook for Healing.
The main focus is on mental, and emotional healing with the knowledge that it can also help bring you to some physical healing as well. Included is a hands-on worksheet with personal questions to ask yourself to pull down each one of the Lies discussed in each chapter. You can either go through the process at home or do the exercise in a small trusted group. The small personal group are encouraged to help bring you out of isolation and to cause people to make the decision to connect with others again.
When I first got this book in the mailer and pulled it out I went "whoa"; it was heavy. Turns out it was not only heavy in size but in content as well. It wasn't to my liking because I was expecting a book on physical healing which this book only lightly touched on. To be fair; there is serious in-depth wisdom in the book; for people who have never done any work in these areas, or only started or for those who have never seen the need for it. My input? Prepare to do some in depth-work.

2 Really GOOD tips for the Household
A regular disposable straw can be easily removed from your child's to-go cup. So if your child likes to take the straw out, you may need to clean up drips of milkshake, juice, or soda from car seats, tables, chairs, etc... Break the cycle with an upside-down crazy straw! Insert the crazy straw through the lid from the wrong side as you assemble any to-go cup. Children are UNABLE to pull the straw out without taking off the lid - which is exactly what you need. Keep one or more crazy straws in your car, in your kitchen, and at grandma’s house!
Sometimes you want cornbread, but don't want to wait for it to bake, right? Next time you'd like to have cornbread in a hurry, prepare your cornbread batter as usual - then use it like you're making pancakes or waffles. Use your skillet or your waffle iron, and spoon the batter in. These cook very quickly, and each one is the perfect serving size. You can also improvise variations according to taste... Add a few corn nibblets, cheese, onions & peppers for Mexican cornbread - or diced apples, cinnamon & brown sugar for a sweet treat!

Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo with Lynn Vincent- Devoured in one sitting
Riveting true story of a little boy, Colton & his family as they HAD to put their faith into action. Also, told with humbling honesty is their need to lean on the faith of others as well; during Colton’s life-threatening sickness and surgery. Colton’s story is told by his father, as they re-tell the trip to Heaven that no one knew Colton took; until the information began to unfold in bits and pieces; in unexpected ways and times.
I am sure that some of the experts will rage, and debate whether this story is really true or not and will miss the point. This family’s story is a great reminder that is time to return to that child-like faith that the Bible says that we need to have. As adults , we can be so educated that we lose that very simple, sweet faith; that is so pleasing to God. Colton’s direct, honest, child-like responses are so like what you would expect of a child of his age. They cause the reader to think back to the “First Love” that they had when they first believed. And to check, “where am I in my relationship with God?” Many scriptural references were included in the book as Heaven was revealed as seen through Colton’s eyes.

From the desk of Steve Shultz:
God is causing His seers to come forth. It's time to see in the spiritual realm deeper and wider to broaden our view. Eagles have the best view in the land – they can see upcoming storms, dangers and whatever lies ahead. "SEER-ing" so to speak, is going to be very important in days ahead.
Please remember us in your giving this year. We are a FOR-PROFIT organization, therefore, your contribution will NOT be tax-deductible. The Elijah List & Breaking Christian News
http://www.elijahlist.com
Theresa Phillips:
During worship on September 18, 2011, a song ending with amen came forth, and this prophetic word started with it:
Amen means yes and completed, let it be so; so that is why sometimes when we're talking to people we hear the word, "AMEN!" Even the mockers will yell, "Amen, brother!"
You know, they will mock you, but they don't understand that the word AMEN means one; singular. Do you get it? A-MEN; one. Singular. As one! It means total, one hundred percent, undivided agreement. Yes! That is what it means! It means undivided agreement. That is why it is called A (singular)-men (plural) – undivided agreement! When we begin to agree together, then nothing can divide us. So AMEN, Jesus! Would you not like to have that unity? I would – AMEN! Alleluia! Praise the Lord! Amen!
Eagle Eyes
You know, I learned something this weekend. My Brother-in-Law told me something I had not known. We were talking about eagles and I told him that I thought I had seen a few of them flying over the road. He said, "You did!" He said, "Wherever the river flows the eagles gather along the river."
Do you realize how prophetic that is? That's the prophecy right there! You know, I'm going to say this and I think it bears merit: I want to say that I'm going to prophesy right now. Glory to God, alleluia!
There is going to be a fresh stream of clear water for the prophets to dip themselves into. There is going to be a fresh wave of the prophetic, and the prophets are going to dwell by the river as Elijah did (yet not for the same reason). They are going to let the Lord feed them. These prophets are not going to be moved by their intellect, they're not going to be moved by their emotions, and they're not going to be moved by what their eyes naturally see – they're going to develop the eyes of eagles.
(Fact: Whoever came up with the phrase "eagle eye" wasn't joking – birds have extraordinarily accurate vision. The eye holds scores of receptor cells, called rods and cones, that translate whatever the bird looks at to the image that it sees. To give an idea of how sharp their sight is, humans typically have around 200,000 of these cells per millimeter inside of their eyes. Some birds, particularly birds of prey such as eagles, have five times that many.)
These prophets are going to wait by the river and they are going to be fed by the hand of God. The Spirit of the Lord will visit them with clean, clear eyes. Yes, a fresh group of seers will emerge.
Come on, somebody! Yes, and the prophecies that are about to come forward are going to be for edification, exhortation and comfort, as God called prophecy to be (1 Corinthians 14:3)!
Boots that Will Help You Walk a New Path
We are living in a time and a season where comfort seems to be impossible to find... And I've been noticing lately that I've been having a hard time finding shoes. I've been buying shoes on the Internet, I have been buying shoes at Payless, and I have been buying shoes at expensive stores and can't find anything comfortable on my feet! I've never had this situation before! Suddenly, the Lord spoke to my heart and said He had made some people's footprints uncomfortable because there is a path that has been taken (which has been barely thriving) by too many people and He is calling us to change our foot gear. I hear Him saying, "Get ready to find boots" – boots that will help you walk a new path.
That is interesting, because that morning one of the first things that came into my mind was, Where shall I go to get a new pair of boots? And then I remembered that song, "These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do! One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you" (speaking of the evil one).
I can see high-heel stepping boots, I see heavy boots, I see ankle boots, I see shoe boots, I see boots up to the thigh like the old knights have worn. These boots will become fashionable. I see riding boots as another fashion statement; I see boots looking like armor! I see boots with buckles! Boots with zippers, and buttons like High Button Boots, boots made out of leather, boots made from plastic, rubber and synthetic materials. Boots – some were shining, some were dull; but I'm here to tell you: Get your boots on! Because we're getting ready to kick butt and take names... Come on! Boots are going to protect your feet! No offense to anybody, but the day of wearing a sandal and being in warfare zones of God is over, because if your foot can be out of commission, you can be stopped. No soldier goes to war without boots.
"Your feet have been exposed! Stop exposing them! It's time to guard your feet," says the Lord. "Armor your feet! Armor your feet!" says our Lord.
It takes just one toe out of joint to remove your entire walk. And so I'm seeing even more! I'm actually seeing silver boots! Gold boots, royal blue boots... I want a pair of those! Help the prophets, Lord, to put on protective foot gear, O Lord!
There is Going to Be a Shift in the Prophetic
I hear more about the prophets coming forth. There is a fresh phase of the Kingdom of God getting ready to be released to the Body of Christ. These prophets are going to work in unison with the apostolic, the vision of God will come like a flowing river. Used, dry mantles will come to be washed by the river, and the weary prophets will become on fire and renewed with fresh holiness.
I see an angelic realm coming in, and they are coming in with the armor of the nations. I see the angels of the nations coming in their armor listening to what is being said in the pulpits across this nation, and they are looking for a place to gather the message to take back to their nations.
Psalm 103:20 Bless the Lord, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word.
Wow! In their hands the angels are carrying a net (see reaping angels in Matthew 13:39). Jesus said to cast the net to the other side...to bring in your harvest! There is going to be a shift in evangelism. There is going to be a shift in winning souls! There is going to be a shift in the prophetic – and you will walk in that shift and you will change the atmosphere! Because you put your net to the other side. You have left the old and stepped out in fresh vision and fresh desire.
The season of change will move very fast. It will be a suddenly as if a season changed from spring to winter and skipped summer altogether! Then I heard the Lord say that if we will not be prepared many among us will become sick and go home. "This is not My will," says the Lord. "I want wellness, I tell you, wellness.
"I am sending supernatural penicillin," says the Lord. "I am sending supernatural penicillin to make people able to walk through flood waters and not be contaminated. The difference between yesterday and today is the shine of the sun... there will never be another today! There will only be today. The sun is coming out and will dry up the muddy waters. My Son is shining today to clean the hearts of those who are called by My name to do mighty exploits. Make today count, for I am numbering the days.
"Prophets will shift. Teachers will shift. Pastors will shift. And the apostolic will be stronger than ever! I will develop a new breed of evangelists, and many new souls will come into the King's domain. I am raising up a breed of prophets who will visit Me by the river."
Ezekiel 1:1 ...While I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.
"These seers will begin to emerge, and I tell you, Church, these prophets will have learned of Me," says the Lord God.

Quote: John Lennon
I never thought I'd write anything down from this source but here it is:
There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.” ― John Lennon Positive Inspirational Quotes (fb)

Why Men Hate Going to Church- Flows with Insight
“ Why Men Hate Going to Church".
Revised & Updated by David Murrow.
This is a book not satisfied with just going for the surface answers. The subject is presented without bashing women or men; and reassures us that both really have a heart for Jesus. With this pointed out many reasons are then addressed; including the cultural influences that men face. He also shows that there truly is a difference between what men and what women need in the church and that the church needs both to flourish. Most women needing the LAMB of God; gentle, nurturing, compassionate, forgiving. And most men saying, “Where is the LION of Judah?” Fierce, going into ACTION; being a Warrior to bring justice; protecting the women and children; producing results.! Its a call to action and remembrance that Jesus is both. When we allow this balance to return ; so will some of the men who have become bored with Church and could find no place place for themselves in it.
As a woman reading this book, I was astounded by the sheer numbers of men absent from church. Several statements in the book grabbed my attention as truth. “ There are two kinds of people in the church; the pillars and the caterpillars. the pillars uphold the church with their prayers; their work and their donations. they build the kingdom of God by the sweat of their brows. The caterpillars crawl in Sunday morning, sing a few songs, listen to a sermon and crawl out again , not to be seen for a week.” Because some many of the pillars of the church are women, “ imagine the chaos if every woman took Sunday off?”. Who do I recommend read this book? Any person who is serious about helping men find their places and maintain what God has given them. Men and women working together; side by side for the gospel of Jesus; no one left out. Men could also benefit from reading this book to see some of the “invisible” influences that have been affecting them. The last 2 chapters gives action ideas to do something with what has been learned.
I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255
