Book Review: An Invitation to the Supernatural Life

An Invitation to the Supernatural Life

Do you think true miracles still happen today? In Africa?  Only?  Do you think that only in other countries that they experience more of God?  It doesn't have to happen only there; missionary Michele Perry shares many of the ways you can grow in the awareness of God and his presence,  what to do with supernatural encounters with God and how to recognize invitations from God and  what your part is  when you receive that invitation from God to come up higher with him. At the end of each chapter there are keys, questions and actions .  This is truly a Life Study Book; a study to live your life in.

I really liked this book a lot but had a REALLY difficult time reading it.  How can that be?  Because I was reading it so that I could prepare a book review; I needed to finish it!!!  The problem was I wanted to stop all the time and DO many of the things that were mentioned.  This is an interactive "Action" book; one that will take time to walk in.  Some people may have a problem with the words "activation" but broken down to me, it just means "put into practice." There were moments of confirmation of things that I had experienced which I always welcome but also new ways of looking at some things that showed me that I had "missed it" by not pushing deeper. Who would I recommend read this book?  My first thought was someone who was more advanced in their knowledge of the Bible.  But then, the thought came to me of how even young believers would miss so much if they didn't read it; they may be already experiencing some of these things and wondering "what in the heck is happening here?"  Bottom line, Michele points continually to Jesus, and the Bible and away from herself and feelings only Christianity.  She points to worshiping in Spirit and in Truth as the Bible says.  People will have to decide for themselves whether they are ready for the deeper  of that Truth.  I pray she has provoked you to a godly jealousy; as she has me.

I received a free copy of this book from Chosen Books as part of their book review program, and I am under no obligation to write a positive review.
