**This is Part 1 of 3 in the Cross Falls Saga**
When Gabrie gets laid off, she decides to take her ex, Darren, up on his offer to move to Cross Falls Plantation to help him fix up his old family home. This is exactly the fresh start she needs, but when Darren neglects to tell her he has a twin brother, and she accidentally sleeps with Jack, she’s got to decide just how much she wants to tell Darren.
As she spends time in Cross Falls, she realizes she’s no stranger to the small town. Between the waitress that apparently knew her mom and Darren’s dying father who is itching to get Gabrie off his property, it becomes obvious that this isn’t the fresh start she was hoping for.
After Darren takes an unexpected trip out of town and Gabrie is left alone with Jack, she starts exploring the oversized plantation and realizes her roots in the town go deeper than she ever could’ve imagined. AMAZON
This is a good start up story but it brings out more questions than it answers. I missed the part that this is Part 1 of 3, so if I had seen that I would have noticed that it would have a cliffhanger. It is a pretty short story as you can see from the book information on Amazon. It isn't a clean read either with quite the astonishing first chapter. But I wasn't the only one surprised. Gabrie got quite the surprise too, making it an interesting twist in the story. Almost against her will but definitely against her common sense, Gabrie is really drawn to Jack, who is the supposed bad boy in the book. A really good question that comes through in the story "is Darren as perfect as he seems?"
