He faked an engagement to get his mother off his back.
She agreed out of sheer panic at being put on the spot.
Neither of them expected it to feel this real.
Everly Carter knows how small towns work—once a rumor starts in Nicholasville, it never lets go. So when Connor Hayes, her brother’s best friend and a cool, controlled billionaire rancher, claims her as his fiancée to silence his relentless mother, Everly plays along.
What begins as a convenient lie turns into late nights under string lights, lingering looks across barn doors, and a family that treats their “fake” engagement like it’s already forever.
Then the past strikes back. A jilted ex-fiancée tries to destroy Everly’s reputation—and her clinic—while an unexpected pregnancy threatens to shatter the fragile peace they’ve built.
His Ring Her Rules is a small-town, fake engagement romance filled with slow-burn tension, found family, high-stakes drama, and a love that has to survive both scandal and surprise to become real.
Return to Nicholasville for more connected Carter family romances, Black sister bonds, and small-town love stories where legacy, loyalty, and land lead every couple to their happily ever after.
--My 4 star review TITLED: Small Town Romance
I really liked both of the main characters. Everly Carter grew up in Nicholasville and then was gone for 8 years studying to be a doctor. Now that she is, she is ready to practice in her hometown ! She has family and many good memories here ! This town pulls together, big time !
Everly's twin brother, Rowan starts the whole thing causing the delightful chaos with the fake engagement ! He's always been a harmless jokester of their family ! Most of her family is already planning parties and the wedding for them !!!
Connor Hayes, is a great guy and he grew up with Everly and it takes a short amount of time for him to realize how much he missed her ! Then his ex, Cheryle Harrison shows up stirring up ALL kinds of trouble !
Having grown up in a small town I appreciated how real it all was. I really liked the ending and want to thank the Author for the ARC of this books !
