BOOK REVIEW: UNWRAPPING LAZARUS
Dr.Peter Carter walks you through and helps give you insights into overcoming negative, destructive thoughts and actions that have held you bound, in death like clothes like Lazarus. At the end of each chapter is a few helpful questions to help you walk things through.
I found this book, enjoyable, and insightful, with the added angle that comes from the author being a doctor. Not to worry, Dr. Carter doesn't bore you with over medical terms; but is easy to read and relate to. I like that he breaks down the chapters into the categories that he did. Like, bringing life back to Hope, unwrapping imagination, unwrapping discouragement, and unwrapping hinderances to spiritual health, just to name a few. I really liked, the point that he made about realizing his priorities of being church-first mindset was off kilter. Instead he realized he needed to be Kingdom-first minded. He gives full credit to the Holy Spirit helping him get there. I loved the humility and realness that the author showed time and again in the way he wrote this book. I think this book is one that I will refer to more than once. Great enouragement tool!
I was given this book FREE from Chosen (a Division of the Baker Publishing Group) in exchange for an honest review.
