A delightful story showing all the bumps and blemishes of people, both inside and outside of their community. Anne was so secure in her identity in her community, even though she did recognize areas where she just didn't seem to fit. That all came screaming down when she finds hidden information about herself, that she was abandoned and then adopted by her family. And it looks like they never intended her ever to know about it. One thing that I appreciated was that it was not too heavy on their language, it had just enough so that it added charm and was believable without making it hard to read. Annie lived her faith, no matter where she was and it was interesting to watch her grow. I got angry in several parts of the story, when Anne is being treated unfairly, cruelly even. But isn't that what a good story does? It draws the reader into the story.
