BOOK REVIEW- A Marquis For Mary

BOOK REVIEW-  A Marquis For Mary- Mary Quinn is almost at the end of her rope. After two years under her sister and brother-in-law’s protection she may soon have to return to her terrible father’s house if she cannot find a husband. In her desperation, she bumps into Edward, Marquis Woodley. Drawn to each other, they are soon thrown into a scandal that leads to an engagement.
But as the pair grow closer and their wedding looms, Woodley’s past and the horrific circumstances of his first wife’s death may keep them from the happy ending that will save them both. AMAZON
I really liked this story. I though it was a charming, charming story but with the required challenge or two thrown in to make it interesting. I think its really likable because of the main characters. It was a story with only about 107 pages but I feel like the author did a lot with it in that short amount of time. Mary and Edward were good together even though there were those who never wanted Edward to be happy. Ever. Mary's sister (Gemma) and brother-in law were a good addition to the story, in fact they were involved in some of the drama that linked Crispin (the brother-in-law) and Edward. They had a sad and somewhat brutal history together and weren't friends at all because of it.
Wow, was Gemma and Mary's father an evil social climber. He didn't care one bit about the happiness of his daughters. All he cared about was wealth and titles, an elevation of rank for him.
Now some might find it too short or semi-predictable. I found it to be a pleasant enjoyable way to pass the time with.

There was mentioned after the Epilogue, that Audrey's story will becoming out. Audrey is Edward's sister and her story is called, "Forbidden". I think I would like to read that one as well.

I received an advance copy of this book via NetGalley. in exchange for an honest review.
