BOOK REVIEW- FIRE & ICE
BOOK REVIEW- FIRE & ICE- Haddiya Price woke with a premonition that she was going to have one of those days that turned her life upside down. She would gladly hide under the covers until the monster of a day passed, but life didn’t work that way. It came barreling in and snatched the covers from her head and kicked her out of bed. Her estranged husband Weiland Osbeorn was back in her life thrusting her into a tumultuous game of intrigue and mystery that centered around a crime her father said he hadn’t committed. As much as she hated being dragged back into her father’s web of lies and deceit, dealing with unresolved feelings for Weiland, and a whole host of complications that come along with one of those days, Hadi knew if she didn’t get a handle on the life had dropped in her lap, she might not have many more days to come. This is a previously published work. The title, author, and/or publisher may have changed AMAZON
What a great story; loved it. It took me a little bit of time to figure out how things worked in this "world" but I didn't lose interest as it went along. The main characters were great. Haddiya ( Hadi) was one angry chick. But she sure had plenty of reasons to be that way. Her father Dorian is one piece of work who she has spent years staying away from. There was just too much pain, death and drama around him (and smirking). She was tired of being involved in it and controlled to cleaning up his messes. Someone else who was part of that life was her husband Weiland, who she also left. She had loved him but just couldn't live the life anymore. Well, her years of peace are pretty much over when Weiland comes back in her life and she gets dragged back into her old life. Her father lives in a luscious household of course, but there is also a new addition. There is a sweet six year old girl named Judith, who quickly grabs at Hadi's heart. Judith already has Weiland's heart. They are so charming together. I enjoyed the conspiracy that was going on, the mysteries of a deadly attack which is being laid at Dorian's door. According to the story, you could see some of the changes that both Haddiya and Weiland have gone through in their personalities, it shows some their growth. I like the way the point of views from each main character was done, a gentle weaving of the story without repetition of each action. There is also several married sex scenes written in the story. But watch out. There is also one major, whopping twist towards the end of the book, it really caught me off guard. Good job author, you made me cry. That's not an easy thing to do. I do get involved in a good story but its something else when you get me crying about the people in the story. The author did a good job of not only portraying emotions in the book but also pulling at the emotions of the reader. The Epilogue pulls everything together in a way that I found satisfying. That's all I'm going to say. I just don't want to give any of the story away. I want it to just unfold naturally.
Would I read something else by this author? You betcha!
Nice job on the dramatic cover by the way.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
