The prayers in this evening devotional were of a private nature to be shared with some of Blumhardt's closest friends; never really intended to be published. But after his death in 1919, they still live on now in this book. But each one has a heartfelt prayer; not flowery or running on with many words but straight from the heart. A very thankful, humble heart is what is displayed.
