No more Pet Hair-FlyLady

Dear FlyLady,
Up here in Canada, I have been flying on and off for a few years, even when I am not actually engaged in daily FlyLady missions and such, there are certain habits that never leave me and for that I am very grateful.

I am a big dog lover and do anything from boarding dogs in my house to fostering dogs looking for a home. I own 3 dogs of my own and 3 cats in a very small house so my main problem has always been the pet hair-tumble weeds all over the house that would depress me as it was never ending.

After resuming my flying, I came up with this part of my before bed routine: I have set up an old wooden table outside my back door with a dog brush. While I put everybody out for the last bathroom break of the evening, one by one they go on the table and get a quick brushing. The dogs love it so much that they actually argue as to who goes up first !! I know it sounds simple but I have spend years thinking in my perfection that I would brush the dogs when I had time to do it right.... which didn't happen often.... my house has been almost free of tumble weeds for a month now and

I have a smile on my face when I realize that I no longer have to turn my eyes away when I walk around corners....

Gratefully,

FLYing dog lover

I just want you to jump in where we are. O.K.?

P- GOD, NEAR

P-Seven times a day I praise You

 TODAY MEDITATE ON: PSALM 119:164

Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments. -

 Psalm 119:164

Develop Godly Habits

It was David’s habit to praise God seven times a day. It was Daniel’s habit since his youth to pray three times a day to God. It was Jesus’ habit to go to the synagogue every Sabbath to read the Word. And it was the early church’s habit to meet together often and break bread.

My friend, whether it’s meditating on the Word, praying or praising God, I encourage you to cultivate such godly habits. Not only are they ways through which you’ll enjoy God’s presence, but they’ll also equip you for every fight of life. They’ll sustain and deliver you in times of trouble.

Just look at Daniel. When a new law forbade him to pray, he didn’t panic or become confused, but as was his custom, continued to pray to God. Later, up close and personal with a bunch of hungry lions, this habit made Daniel so conscious of God’s presence in the den that the lions couldn’t touch him! It made him so steady that the king was moved to haul Daniel up and throw in his enemies to the lions instead.

Beloved, let godly habits deepen your relationship with Jesus—and overcome every challenge with a strong consciousness of His presence and love!

"It is much better to try and to fail than never have the courage to go after something. Too many missed opportunities lead us into the valley of shadow, where we are a pale version of what we could have been. Passivity, procrastination and caution are all forms of regret. It is where we look back at our fainthearted approach to life and discover how timid we have become.

The future is still stretching before us. It is vital that our past does not become our future or regret will shadow us all our lives. Failure is less traumatic than regret."
