"Portuguese Knitting" Lesson - How to Knit

If you are a knitter, chances are you have chosen the method that you like the best. However, learning alternative knitting methods can ensure that you are knitting in the most comfortable way possible. Sometimes, the way you first learn to do something is not always the best for your hands and wrists.

The basic difference when it comes to the Portuguese method is that you attach the yarn to a knitting pin or you can loop the yarn around your neck. An article from Knitting About says that the yarn is passed through the pin from work being done with the left hand.

Turning a Crochet Wrap into a Crochet Cowl

Turning a Crochet Wrap into a Crochet Cowl: Will the thermometer be able to claw its way above zero today? It's a dicey bet, but the snow is beautiful, and this is, I think, the perfect weather for crocheting. So what am I crocheting on this blustery day? Well, I should be working on holiday gifts, but I've been distracted by a fabulous…

BOOK REVIEW- A LOVE TRANSFORMED

The Riveting Final Story in the Sapphire Brides Series
When Clara Vesper's husband, Adolph, dies suddenly, Clara is stunned--but not grief-stricken. Her marriage to Adolph had been arranged, their primary interaction revolving around the sapphire jewelry Clara designed and Adolph produced and sold. Widowed and penniless, with two small children, Clara decides to return to her aunt and uncle's ranch in Montana, the only place she has ever been happy.

Curtis Billingham, injured in a sapphire mine collapse, is recuperating at the ranch of his friends, Paul and Madeline Sersland. But when the Serslands' niece returns from New York City, Curtis curses both his broken body and his broken past. Clara, the love of his life, has come back to him, but he is no longer worthy of her love.

Clara's brother-in-law Otto Vesper, Adolph's business partner, fears that the loss of Clara's design skills will doom the company's prospects. Following her to Montana, Otto is prepared to do whatever it takes to get Clara to return with him to New York.

As Clara fights for love and freedom, a dangerous secret in her late husband's life comes to light, threatening everyone she loves.  AMAZON   4 STARS

Good story with some good surprises, twists and turns and good main characters, .  It didn't take long for me to be pulling for both Clara and Curtis.  Both as separate people and hoping for them as a couple.  Life has NOT been easy for either of them.   That part was really well written.
Secondary people were really good too.  Clara's aunt and uncle and Clara's children, Hunter and Maddie to name a few.  They were great strong people, with the children beginning to be really happy for the first time.  Clara was trying so hard to grow a backbone and in some cases she was winning.  But growing up under the hand of her tyrannical mother sure made it hard and her mother was not done with her up.  Didn't matter to her one little bit that her daughter was a grown woman.  She WOULD bend to her mother's wishes or else, that is her mother's M.O.
The story does have a lot of faith in God displayed, if that is a problem for you then you might not like this book.  But it's not one of those books that relies on that and doesn't have a good underlying story.  No, the plots are good.
When the dangers increased, I have to admit I was kind of hoping that Clara's mother would get killed off. In the middle of the story I was hoping for that, you will have to read the book to find out if that happens or not.  But the author did such a good job of writing her mother's awfulness, it's probably the first time I hoped a pretend person died.  I know, Sorry, that's not very Christian of me.
But I am satisfied.  I'm very satisfied with the twist at the end and how the story ends.

Just as a side note, I did like the cover for the book.  Very attractive, elegant looking.
