BOOK REVIEW- AT THE KING'S COMMAND BOOK 3

Frustrated by his own failures at matrimony, King Henry VIII punishes an insolent nobleman by commanding him to marry the vagabond woman caught stealing his horse. Stephen de Lacey is a cold and bitter widower, long accustomed to the sovereign's capricious and malicious whims. He regards his new bride as utterly inconvenient…though undeniably fetching.
But Juliana Romanov is no ordinary thief—she is a Russian princess forced into hiding by the traitorous cabal who slaughtered her family. One day she hopes to return to Muscovy to seek vengeance.
What begins as a mockery of a marriage ultimately blossoms into deepest love.  AMAZON 4 STARS

Good storylines, really good people shown in the book.  Interesting, complex main characters and also political intrigue.  Stephen de Lacey, has so often suffered at the whims of his King, Henry V111.
This book had some interesting groups of people that made up the story, including the Gypsy tribe that had "adopted" Juliana.  Lazlo, was a major person in her life, who became like a second father to her.
This story is not without a few twists and turns, that when they are revealed, it made me go, "yes, of course."
As time went on, the story dragged a bit for me.  It came with the times when Stephen seemed to grow cold towards Juliana. Usually just after he allowed a fraction of his attraction to her to be seen.  His coldness seemed to be for no reason, at least to her.  But as a reader, we got some insight as to what was driving him.  I loved the spunk that Juliana showed at those times as well as other times.
I give the author good marks for the good Epilogue, I enjoyed that part too.

BOOK REVIEW- ASHFORD

Ash
It’d been more than three years since I last disrobed a woman, and she definitely wasn’t screaming like this woman…whom I just met and who was in labor in the back of my SUV. Little did I know that this chance encounter was about to change my life in ways I could never imagine.

I’d spent the last three years searching for my fiancée, unsuccessfully. I never thought I’d love again. And then I met Mina.

From the moment I met her, I didn’t want to let her out of my sight. I never expected how much I’d enjoy having her and her newborn son, Ford, living with me at the compound, and I dreaded the day when they would pack their things and leave.

My draw to Mina is undeniable. She’s gorgeous and caring and selfless, but can I move beyond my past and see a future with her?

Mina
Ash shouldn’t act like a complete stranger…after all he delivered my son. But even when I do a simple act like hug him as a sign of gratitude for the kindness he’s shown my son and I, he steps away…although he does seem to be lingering a bit longer with each forced embrace. Maybe one day?

I couldn’t have stumbled upon a better man to help me in my predicament. Ash is beyond handsome and gives me a sense of safety that I’ve never felt before. Not only has he put a roof over my head, but he’s even helping me soothe my newborn son in the middle of the night…although I don’t think he wants his friends to know that quite yet.
Ford deserves someone better than his biological father. He needs a man like Ash, a man who can protect him and teach him how to protect himself. He needs a good, generous man as a father, someone who will love him unconditionally.
He needs Ash.
I need Ash.
I’m just afraid that the secrets and lies I’m carrying with me will be the things that make a life with Ash impossible. Will the truth set me free, or bury me forever?  AMAZON

This book, I would say is a "Mixed Bag".  I liked the story of Ashford and Mina, it was pretty good.
Some of the other ones, not so much.  Lots of sex and in some cases like prosititing themselves, which I didn't like.

Here are the names of the books also included:

HIS-

Beauty and the Billionaire-

THORN -

Blindsided-

Addicted to you-  This one might really be tough to read and not for all readers.

BOOK REVIEW- SAVING MY ASSASSIN

Strong women who stand up for justice in the face of deadly opposition have been  featured recently in the international media--from the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner boldly standing up for the educational rights of Pakistani girls, to an Iranian professor whose secret book club defied the oppression of a brutal regime.
Virginia Prodan is to be counted among these women. Denouncing one of the most powerful and brutal communist dictators of the time, Virginia dared to defend Christians in communist Romania while fearlessly declaring Christ--even to the assassin who was ordered to kill her.
Virginia's true story of faith, obedience, and courage can still be witnessed today as she continues to defend, in court, those who have been discriminated against  for their Christian faith--only now in her adopted country of the United States!
Saving My Assassin: One Woman's Stand against an Evil Empire is the unbelievable, true story of a living heroine of the faith.   LINK

What an unusual story, I really liked it.  What a painful childhood Virginia had.  Hidden, secluded, unwanted and mainly unloved.  It also made me think of other children who have lived that and even might be living it right now.  But I'm not going to be sidetracked here, this is Virginia's story.  Its also amazing how a meeting with a certain client got her full attention.  This man was in trouble but had such peace and happiness, it puzzled her.  So began her journey... And what a journey it was.
This story didn't go into really gory details but just enough for the reader to get the feel of the terror, intimidation and fear that tried to rule.
There was an Epilogue to the book and also a small section written by her "assassin".  Wow, both of those things added so much to the book.
There is also an unexpected Q&A Interview with the author Virginia Prodan, which I enjoyed.
This book is also a way to see how much we take for granted our freedoms in the United States.
Even some of us that look at how bold we are as Christians here in the U.S.A. will get out eyes opened when it comes to boldness, courage and total reliance on God.  Love, the Love of God was poured out through Virginia in some pretty tough situations. Are we so sure that we would do so well, in her place?  Inspiring!  She wasn't lifting herself up saying, how great she was but was totally honest on how scary it was.  And that God showed himself strong on her and her family's behalf.

I received a copy of this book via Tyndale in exchange for an honest review.
