---My 5 STAR Review TITLED: Hidden Secrets Hurt

 

Serena Vega is friends with Darian and she is a smart woman with a lot of lost memories. She is introduced to  Kael D’Amico the friend and business partner to Darian. 

He's shocked when Serena looks at him like a stranger.. She's intrigued but cool.  Kael is shaken and stunned. How could she NOT know him? It's been 10 years but still; no memories of him at all? Is that a good thing or not?  He vacillates back and forth about that !  He's afraid of her remembering too much and ending up hating him.  He's so nasty to her, trying to keep distance between them even though he still loves her.  I loved that he had the nickname, Ren for her ! And I wondered if or when that nickname might trigger more memories. She is hilarious when it comes to her frustration with him. She just wants to pull her hair out most of the time when she's around him That is when she's not fighting her unexplained attraction to him.  She says some pretty funny things during those times.  ! Darian can't figure out what the problem is because he thought that she would be perfect for the business and maybe even Kael. 

The story is intense and explicit and kept me totally involved in seeing them fight for love. I wanted to see if she would regain more of her memories or even if they could start all over again.

 Sofia Capello and her cousin Marie have one free night out to celebrate. She encounters Dante, who is HOT and apparently older and experienced. He flusters her and she ducks out on him ; running to the bathroom.  But that isn't the last of it. And her cousin suspects.

Dante Vietti tries to find her but can't UNTIL....

While I liked this story, it was too short and was pretty predictable. Not my favorite. I have read better books by this author.

----My 4 Star Review- TITLED:  Good Mystery with a touch of Romance

Lily Jane Good is at it again ! Her best friend and soul sister Maggie just found her housemaid Nenita Shoe dead in her Glass House ! It looks like Death by Chocolate ! Or was it a hear attack?  A good Detective named Nikki Howell is on site as is Lily's boyfriend, Detective Lance Philipps.  He is a really good guy and detective; someone with integrity on the job. Too bad that his Captain is in a big rush to grab a suspect with no evidence. Captain Oliver Wright is a pompous, arrogant, ignorant jerk who is in charge, also being politically motivated to close this case QUICKLY ! Did Joseph Kennedy really do it? Would he really hurt Maggie?

Lily's daughter Violet shows up a few times in the story to help comfort their friend Maggie. As does Lily's mom who spots a really important clue in the copy of the autopsy report !

It all comes to a good conclusion with a slight moment of romance for Lance and Lily.  Well. Until Lily stumbles unto another possible murder mystery.  Could that be in the next upcoming book, "Mignon Mysteries"? 

I received this book as an ARC and enjoyed this clean mystery. 

--Not included in review: Too much Potassium can cause irregular heartbeats. It could also cause death when it HUGE amounts in the blood.

--MY 5 STAR REVIEW: Titled: There's a story behind -The Locket -Saint Xenia 

Clarissa has a really rough start in this story.  She's a nurse leaving her shift, when she saw something that she shouldn't have. She is then tolen after witnessing a Mafia murder and held and then sold at a rich men's action.  Demyan Rysev burst into that aucton looking for his enemy, Ronan O'Shea when he sees her on the stage and when he sees her and that locket, he bids 500,00 dollars for her and they sign the binding marriage certificate right then. Wild !  He can't explain why he did it, he doesn't understand it. He just couldn't leave her there. There's a pull ,an attraction and something about that Locket. So like the one that his dead mother wore ever day of her life ! His mother was killed when he was 10 and that's when he killed all of his emotions too ! No one else can understand why he bought Clarissa, because it's not like him. But she's his now ! I really liked that Demyan wanted to give Clarissa choices. To have her come to him even though they are married. He wanted her to choose him. He says that she is changing him.  

Gleb is his right hand man who thinks at first that Clarissa just might be too much danger for them because they have enough enemies.  

The Petroics they were the ones who had taken her and sold her. Now the  wanted her dead because of what she saw.   Ronan O'Shea was another one of their enemies, one that was even more dangerous if that is even possible. 

People do die. There is violence. There is heated, adult scenes between Clarissa and Demyan but also with a HEA for Clarissa and Demyan in the Epilogue. By the way, the story behind that Locket that Clarissa's grandmother gave her was tear worthy, emotional and so well written.

I really enjoyed the dual P.O.V's in this shorter story. It flows nicely as a sweet romance and I thought the motorcycle was a nice touch ! It also make the eBook cover even better. 

 Angel is studying to be a paralegal hoping to be a lawyer.  She waits on Leo Spence when she serves him, his drink. He wants her right away and they connect.  Angel has one best friend who she works with, Aurora.  They both were in foster care and Aurora can bee funny but firm. Aurora  has her back. 

Angel is uneasy about their difference in background but moves in with Spence,  It's hilarious when Spence's' brother, Brian shows up unannounced to anyone to find Angel waving a knife at him. 

There is a HEA with a sweet Epilogue. Also included is a Sneak Peek into a  story about Zaria Starling and Leander Frostwick  in another one of her books called, "The Billionaire's Nanny."

MY REVIEW NOTES TITLED: 5 STARS for An Amazing Dark Story

I liked Jack O'Regan , although at first I wasn't sure that I was going to.  Maeve
Reilly was hard NOT to like.  And what a tragic life she has led. Her brother Declan is in trouble because he owes money to some very dangerous people !

There are several other dangerous people in this story. Cian is Jack's Uncle Shane's son. Cian is a VERY TALL man who Jack has never liked and found it hard to hide. Especially since he had a thing for Maeve. I felt that Cian was not a man to be trusted. Now, Shay is a puzzling man to Jack but someone that he felt needed watching. Me too.  He's Liam's nephew. Shay is charming but sly and clever too !  He wants to share control of the North and South Ireland.  There's talk about making it an International thing with a panel of 4 that includes "that Murphy lad." 

Yes, there are some Dark. Really Dark elements to this story but it was also well written even with the violence.  Great push and pull attraction between the two of the MC's.  And a steamy romance. 

It looks like Shay also has a story to tell.  One about him and Emma. An arranged marriage perhaps? In the book, "The Mafia King." I think I'll follow up on that one!

---my 4  star review TITLED: A shorter story with all the feels

I could really FEEL the emotions of guilt that Colt had about the death of Sofia.  He obeyed orders years ago and that woman, that asset died.  Never again he vowed to himself. So when he overheard those two men, talking about snatching a woman and laughing about it?  He couldn't just let it go !  But he's on leave from his job as a Guardian and his boss, CJ is on the edge about him continuing.  Turns out not only was Magnolia taken but so was her brother, Tyler.

I really liked Magnolia. The name and the person.  Yes, she demanded to be called Maggie but she was tough, funny and sharp. She hasn't forgotten any of her former Army Medic skills. She's sharp.  I enjoyed how Colt and Maggie manage to work together as they run and have to fight. You could feel the military edge in the beginning because as they first escaped their words were precise, weighted and clipped.  They were in a gun battle for crying out loud 

 The story was intense, with some surprises and an ending that I liked.

 ---Frost name was a call name. Colten Harrison was his real name.

My 5 Star Review TITLED:  There is Betrayal all around them ! 

 Sofia Romano  wakes up in the middle of the night. There are unfamiliar voices and shouting !So she sneaks downstairs in her silk pajamas and gets caught listening ! She gets furious at the men threatening her father and burst into the room where armed men point guns at her.  Raffaele Moretti is one of them. Although he is both amused and surprised by her courage, he's been planning this and takes her right then ! He is a 6'3" man who is an enforced and son of Don Moretti. She was taken for leverage, collateral for the $2 million debt that her father owes them.  This has been well planned and when she gets to her new luxurious "suite", there are clothes, shoes, makeup and toiletries all tailored to her style. She's furious once again.  She is fierce, and unafraid to confront Raffaele although he often tells her she should be.  She's also smart and sassy.

Raffaele was told by his father..I know that she's pretty and I know you as a man but she's to be untouched until I decide what I'm going to do with her. Yeah, good luck with that. Raffaele is often impressed with Sofia and after awhile he realized he's in deep trouble already with his attraction for her. Thing is she is fighting that same attraction too ! It cracked me up when his friend and also good man in organization would often, call out through their door, "Urgent ! Boss, we have a situation!" It happened usually when Rafffaele and Sofia were in the middle of their own "heat" of a situation.  Nothing in that area of sexual heat happens until a while later. Their sweet, sassy romance was one  I enjoyed. 

Matteo was also a good guy when it came to having Raffaele's back even when he had some doubts from time to time. Especially when dealing with Sofia.  But Matteo is loyal to the end.  

They have treachery coming at them from every corner and the battles are intense.  Who can they trust?

Great surprises towards the end and I loved how it all ended. Especially the phrase that came about AFTER they became enemies and then they weren't.  They were both trying to survive especially after finding love together. The Phrase?  "Together. Always."  They fought TOGETHER til the end.

My 4 Star Review TITLED:  Surprises

 Bianca just flew in from Florence, Italy and is now at her beloved,  Nonna Sabina's funeral. Atlantic City is where it's being held and Bianca's mother, Francesca is there. he's the one who has been holding things together at the restaurant. Although, Bianca soon finds out what her mother has been holding out on her about "The Debt" that she owes. Giovanni and the Conti family !

Giovanni is not the head of the family, his brother Luca is. And he has a new fiance named Elena Pennino who is a former Federal prosecutor. She is a stabilizing  influence in the family.  Along with their new baby girl, Alessandra.  

Giovanni has been a gentleman all along even when Francesca pays her debt regularly but also tries to stonewall him in the beginning when it comes to Bianca. Bianca continues to be a professional chef, playing her part coolly until she starts to have sweaty dreams about Giovanni.  Then things do start to heat up. But still Giovanni continues to give Bianca choices. He doesn't push but does silently seduce with his attentiveness to her and paying attention to what she likes. Giovanni is sweet but also fierce and I l liked that. 

There is a LOT about foods and wines because of course she is a chef. Most I never heard of or tasted but the author does pay attention to details as well.  The different places and locations are also painted well too !

 When the two of them finally make it to a bed, things get EXTREMELY heated and detailed.  A little less would have been better for me. But  I did like that there were so many good sides to this man and his family. 

There is plenty of tension  and fear when Bianca gets taken and she's not really sure that Giovanni cares enough to come for her. And what if he does? 

Good ending and Epilogue.

My 5 STAR REVIEW- I loved this Hilarious, Wild,  Sweet Romance

Hilarious, Sweet Surprise Romance- Tessa James has 3 kids under the age of ten. She's desperate, exhausted, running out of money and patience,  and she was hilarious. Her first meeting with Dr. McDreamy (that would be Dr. Miles)   she said, He looked so good that she wanted to climb him like a tree..lol ! And then was horrified when she realized she said that out loud ! Her two boys, Bennett and Chris were wild ones but her older daughter Ariana was the quieter, more studious almost "normal" one. Although she had some fun quirks too !

Tessa's equally funny, best friend, Maya is the one who goaded her by texting her to apply for the $60,00 reward for being a surrogate. Tessa had seen it at the doctor's appointment with the kids. Tessa is an honest woman, she has integrity. She balked at first not wanting to take money for helping someone else. But later thought what the heck at least it's something I'm good at. I loved her ! I laughed so much through this book !

I also felt so bad for the pediatrician who was so desperate for a child. He'd been disappointed so many times before ! Hang onto your hat doc you're in for some surprises !!!

 Evil still lives in their midst. Twists, turns and surprises still wait for Vicor Tom and Dr. Ellie March and his daughter Lucy. All lovable people who I continued to enjoy.  Tom and Ellie do come to butting heads at one point. Each having their own idea of how the problem should be confronted. Lucy gets caught in the middle of the evil in Thornadale, which causes  more fear for Tom and the town.   The motive behind it all is even sicker than first thought, if that is even possible !

I don't want to give too much away but I will say that things do get intense and with several stunning surprises towards the end.

----MY 5 STAR REVIEW TITLED:  The Doctor meets the dangerous Orlov Family 

 

Nothing prepared  Claire Donovan for working in a NY hospital. She's a doctor from the UK,  looking for something new, an adventure.  What happens suddenly is more violence than she expected or wanted in her ER. Claire is a good woman with very black and white judgements of good and unacceptable in people and situations. That's about to be challenged! This handsome, odd, strong man just keeps up saving her before she even knew who he was !

Mikhail Orlov is the boss, The Mafia King who is 50ish  had been forced into an arranged marriage that produced an older son, Andre his right hand man. And his fifteen year old daughter, Anya who he never got to see or raise.  Andre was the only child that he had been allowed to keep. The family that raised Anya taught her to hate and loath her father. And boy did she ever. She bought into all of their lies. 

Not only did Mikhail have his son in his "business" but his trusted nephews Sergi and Roman.  

Jack Harroun, another ER doctor  is known for being good at his job but after a while Claire began to wonder about his motives. 

This is an emotional story and I began to feel really sorry for Mikhail.  He really didn't want any women in his life at first.  And I could see why. His first wife Olga hated him and rejected him at every chance she got. His daughter when she "had" to be returned to him did the same.  There was a strong attraction between Mikhail and Claire but he was afraid to let anything happen. He wasn't going to let that beautiful smart doctor in and just be rejected again !  He was afraid that she would only see him as an Executioner. The battles were intense and he worked so hard to protect his family, those he cared about and his organization. The attacks kept coming from all sides it seemed. I kept thinking, "How do "they" keep breaking into his house?  He had all those guards, inside and out and all the security measures. It sure kept things exciting ! I also kept thinking, "How is it ever going to work out between The Doc and the Mafia Man?  Yes, the heat was definitely there for sure. And he does save her time and again. By the way, I loved how it ended !

 Oh, a side note I would like to see what happens to Anya when she gets old enough to get married !

 --My 5 STAR review- titled: Hilarious Friends & Romance & Great Emotions

I absolutely fell in love with this story. I smiled. I laughed and felt all the emotions that Erin Kelly felt and what she invoked in others !  She was wild, funny, caring and super skilled at being a vet. Comfort was low on her scale of importance.  But her ex-husband, her college sweetheart cheated on her and then blamed her  for it ! That had stolen some of her sparkle and self worth. For a while, at least. Her best male friends sparkly, outrageous hilarious Oscar Vale hates Beige Phillip with a passion ! Erin and Oscar have been friends since third grade when SHE decided that they were going to be friends and it stuck ! Her other male bestie, Dante Morales is a quieter, more of a observing kind of gay friend and he also hates Philip and hated that she married him ! When they visited, they brought hilarious scenes. But Erin had already been communication with Oscar (Oz) and he didn't disappoint then either !

The first time that Erin and Adrian Blake met was really cute.  So much hilarious flirting before they get down to some real stuff ! I liked that !  But they were still so much fun even afterwards! Adrian is so over his head but soon finds that the one night stand means so much more and he doesn't/can't let go ! Things get tough when Calving Season hits but he really wants to be there for her. I hoped that they would make it  together that no ex or family or jobs would get in the way! Because yes, Adrian has a high powered job too that his brother is wondering if he's going to ditch .

And I loved how Erin mentioned that her cousin Chris who was picking her up at the airport was like a clueless cinnamon roll! Lol.

My 4 Star Review- Titled:  Sweet  Romance and some heat

Amber is really late for her interview to be a nanny and she really needs this job. Yes, she admits that she's unconventional when she burst into the wrong room at the room time.  But luckily for Amber,  Cole's sweet , clever and sparkly daughter Lily helps save the day. She popped into the room saying that she's bored.  And when Amber gets down on Lily's level, they connect. So Cole reluctantly says after a while, okay we'll try it on a temporary basis. But he has rules because yes, he lives a very structured life ! She's great at her job but she's also chaos in heels. There was a fair amount of humor in the story between the main characters and I really enjoyed that. 

Cole starts to slowly unbend but it's so much fun when he keeps denying to himself how much he's beginning to enjoy the sunshine that Amber brings into his life and Lily's.  

I was surprised at how nasty the women in Amber's family were when Amber and Cole show up to meal invitation. And her ex boyfriend Zane?  Super nasty.  Cole wanted to punch him and so did I ! I wanted to see him face some consequences that hurt !

One of my favorite things was the titles of the chapters.  Especially the one called, "Into The Lion's Den-Amber".  

Sweet ending as well !

 -----------------------------------------------------My 5 STAR Review TITLED: Surprises all  around

Sasha Kozlov, is a Russian woman who loves her Russian family; the criminal parts and all.  She just doesn't want to live the criminal lifestyle. She an expert art examiner, who has been living in London; separating the fake from the real. She's excellent at it too ! And that's what gets all the trouble started ! She has spotted and reported fakes going through Christie's auctions.  It makes the owner Adrian furious and he's out for blood ! He is obsessed with Sasha and with ruining the Kozlov business and family ! Nothing is too much to accomplish that goal. 

Her brother, Dmitri is the Pakhan and tells her to stay away from Tony because something isn't right.  That is until they decide to USE him to get to Adrian and destroy his plans instead.  Sasha's brothers and Boris helped raise her when at 4 years old their mother was  killed in a car accident. The brothers were just teenagers at the time.

There's a lot of danger going on and continues throughout the story. Because Adrian is dangerous in his frenzied obsession with Sasha.  She has another brother who is quieter but Alexi is just as lethal. Dmitri's head of security Boris just might be the most lethal of them all and totally devoted to the family. He was there to help train Sasha on self defense and how to look for danger, exit points . To basically pay attention and scope out a room or place. Even Tony is impressed with that part of her ! 

Tony Haugh is the tool that Adrian  Belmont has paid a huge contract to get him there ! This man has been through it too. His parents were killed when he was young and at 10 years old he went to live with his crusty uncle. Then the CIA, where things that happened still give him nightmares.  He's not sure he deserves love. 

I loved the dual points of view, the emotions, the action, the fight scenes and even the heated scenes between the main characters. Sasha also has great family.  I loved the movie bit where Sasha explains the symbolic meaning of Cranes in the movie. They mate for life.  When one dies, the other one flies alone.  

 Great Epilogue and I liked the ending but also the information that this was a soft cliffhanger setting up the next book (4).  That book sounds interesting.

--MY 5 STAR REVIEW TITLED:  Painful Journey 

 

Eira Morrow is a University Librarian. It's been years since she lost her first love, Lysander Thorn her first love from High School. It hurts big time and it's been YEARS but she's been trying to move on.  UNTIL, she showed up at his book signing for his popular book, "Shattered Muse." Things really began to stir from there. 

When Lysander lost all memory of Eira and their love it just about killed her ! He looked at her like she was a stranger. That car accident took a lot from both of the.  His memory of her totally eased ! What an emotional story ! This story was sweet. It was different because of the angst too ! 

There is some repetition in the story, and some heat. Their first kiss  years after the accident was FIERCE ! It was also TOTAL love !

And yes, there is a hard earned HEA, which I enjoyed a lot ! I loved the two of them together !

My favorite line in the book was when Lysander was trying to remember and he jotted in his notebook- "She's Mine. She has always been Mine." It did have him scratching his head wondering even while knowing it was her and it was true !

--MY 5 STAR REVIEW- TITLED: They have to stand back to back to win

We start out with Juliet Russo's point of view; her side of the story. Nico is helping her escape? Or is he? She wonders why he would help a woman that he sold out ? Or did he?  She was promised to Riccardo Leone and he wasn't giving up ! I gotta admit that the beginning caught me off guard ! Her father, Don Russo is a monster who basically sold her to Riccardo and he's a monster too !

The Nico Romano gets his say. He sees all the bruises and scratches and the red mark on her check. And he asks her "Who did this to you?" She wants to know why does he care now?  They are being chased and there is a gun in the glove compartment and Juliet knows how to use it ! They run from safe-house to safe-house but no place is really safe for long ! And the titles of some of these chapters, Wow ! Like "Cellar of Scars".  Pretty indicative of some of the violence going on ! Marco is on his side and helps where he can. 

Lucia Russo (her sister) is helping her as much as she can. Juliet feels that she  just might be someone that she can trust.  She's hoping that's true. Lucia was the one that warned her to run ! Because people want BOTH Juliet and Nico dead and continue to send threats and near misses.  The intensity of the attacks and the cleverness of the evil ones pursuing them was also intense. As was the romance that develops between Juliet and Nico.

I found that there was an interesting approach to the way this story was written and the ending was a bit odd but interesting too.

Alley Reese is in New Orleans, Louisiana and her best friend Tia is pushing her towards Tanner Lone.   The Mafia doctor has a rival enemy called the Bran. And by the way he HATES being called a Mafia Doctor. The Mafia is just a side business to him !

 Things turn really dangerous for Alley and Tanner is VERY protective !! He doesn't like to kill. He's a doctor after all; he wants to  preserve life.  But this story was emotional and hot ! I loved it when he called her, 'Kitten". And the Epilogue was worth waiting for !

 Rebecca is caught in a drenching rain and runs into the Tallula Tavern. She's stunned that he's there and he's Not happy that she's there.  He does says that he's staying at his bar ! You can almost feel the attraction between them. She's not the staid dressing, innocent looking girl that he knew before. He doesn't know at first that she broke up with Steve.  Anthony still wants her. He's wanted her for years !

ANTHONY is 55 years old; a city boy according to Rebecca. He's been attracted to her for years and there's 20 years difference between them.   It cracked me up at how awkward he was towards her.  His thoughts of 'calm down" were hilarious ! And I really felt for him. And he was trying to hide his body's response to her.  She begins to suspect what is going on and tries to hide her smile. That made me smile ! He's so sweet towards her. 

It's emotional and hot and I loved both of them and the dual points of views !  Steve lost out big time and I liked how the story ended! Btw, great Ebook cover, it really drew my eyes to the book !

---My  5 STAR REVIEW TITLED: Well Titled

15 year old Carol gets Danny Devlin's email and meets him at a diner at 2 am. Now Danny is on the hunt to find a serial killer. The police has written her beautiful mother's horrific murder as an "unfortunate things" that happens to escorts ! They say that the city is safe; that there is NO serial killer out there. But Carol isn't going to let that rest and she's seen the pattern that the police don't. 

Danny calls a woman named Nyah who hates him and thought about calling Smara Vale, his boss and sometimes CIA handler.  But he wanted to keep his "side hustle" secret from her. No worries Nyah helps him a little bit.

The action gets intense towards the end where the Mad Dog catches up with Danny.   I loved how the title came into play and was so fitting. And that saying of, "What do you do with a Mad Dog? You put them down, right?

The story then fades to black with that phrase.

I liked this story and that there are more to come. Like :
