MY 5 STAR REVIEW TITLED:  The Wolf & The Dangerous Red Notices 

22 year old Lian has been planning her escape for 2 years. One last job before she runs! Unfortunately the night before her assignment she meets and intriguing man at the bar. Mr. Vescari and he's intrigued by her too. So she leaves the bar with him. She's been trained since childhood by Dr. Lin's rules for the Night Blossoms. It's the Black Lotus Syndicate that holds of their cards as well !  She hates it and she's done. Done being a number, just Night Blossom Fourteen ! So many lies, so many successful kills, and she's wondering what other manipulations have been in place by her handler, That means =Kill Lian!  Jade is one vengeful, vindictive woman who desperately wants their "asset" Lian DEAD as a door nail !

Dante Vescari wants quite the opposite although at first he wonders why he is so involved. Especially when he realizes she's 20 years younger than him.  But he keeps it up and takes some pretty bold risks ! I loved how much Dante enjoyed some of the outrageous theater that he performs against their enemies ! It's courageous and hilarious !  His housekeeper Elena is so special with a story of abuse herself and that makes her even warmer to those who enter the house having been abused. Starting with Lian.

People learned after a while that it was going to cost them Big Time when they mess with The Wolf and Lian who is under his announced protection. Some try anyway and end up dead !  Of course vengeful Jade keeps trying to upend their lives and kill them ! She puts several Red Notices on Lian, breaking all promises. I got the feeling it wasn't going to end well for Jade.  Kept me on the edge of my seat !

This story was spectacular, tense, emotional, romantic and the ending was even better than I could have hoped for !!

My 5 Star Review Notes: TITLED: What a great Adventure !

 Savannah  Halloran and George (a.k.a.Thunder) are just having the start of a bad day. They just don't know it yet. Or even how really bad things are going to get ! They are two different but good people who deserve a lot better. I loved the hilarious "battle" over the Ores at the start of the story.  I loved how her nickname now stuck with her ! She married to an evil man named Brad, who so abusive and she wants out but he just WON'T let go !! I hope that things end BADLY for him !!!  Savannah has The BEST FRIEND, Lacey who would and does go out of her way to help her and George. That causes her to meet up with George's friend, Rocco would is part of the motorcycle "club". It was fun to watch them become a hilarious "team."  Loved them !

Intense chases, captures, escapes, corrupt cops, relentless ex Brad, and some good neighbors, friends that help on both sides !  The romance is so tender and I loved the ending

My 5 Star Review TILED:  It's Quite the Set-Up

 

Paola is an art curator, and artist who teaches kids to paint.  She also has a identical twin Bianca. Bianca has stayed in their father's organization while Paola stayed as far away as possible. She's on a different, innocent path until she isn't ! She's terrified when she's drugged and forced to say I do! All because the twin she trusted ran and couldn't be found ! Was their evil father, Giovanni Lombardo complicit in the switch? He didn't care really which daughter filled the bill. But he would do anything to save his Golden Daughter (to him) from harm or shame. It's a really emotional, scary time for Paola.  She now under the power/married to a scary man who threatened her at the altar.  

 Cesare Monti saw the difference at the altar but had to accept her so it wouldn't make him appear weak or start a war.  The marriage alliance was meant to avoid war to begin with.   Giulio is both his friend and bodyguard 100 percent of the way ! Cesare surprised me as time went by and I found that I liked him and how he was willing to give Paola choices. Especially,  giving her a time limit about consummating their marriage. She's still staggering from all the shocks and trying to come out of the drugged state and exhaustion. 

I gotta say the more I read, the more I thought that someone out to take out that viper, Viktor ! Permanently !!! And I was on the fence about her father too !

Great romance, suspense, some sadness, a wily enemy and a wonderful smile worthy ending! I wanted to read this story because of the unique book information and I wasn't disappointed !

 My 5 Star    Review TITLED: The House of Secrets

Mila Silva is a silly girl at first at least. She's going to have to wise up..fast. She often is one who who ignores her gut instincts and trusts her best friend, Zoe.  She's grown up in foster homes and when Zoe asks her to pick up a bag at the Miami airport she reluctantly goes.  Zoe was there for her when she aged out of the system so agrees although she thinks it just might be a bad idea. And boy, was it ever. And she ends up married and finding out just what was in that bag. Ouch ! She has more Ouch s coming.

She's angry, defiant and oh so attracted to Roman. With them having quite a few detailed hot moments. 

Roman Caruso against his better judgement feels that strong attachment too and acts early on it until she finds out why she should hate him !! Roman is hiding so much from her, trying to protect her AND unravel some very dangerous secrets ! He's trying to catch some really sketchy people and address some years old LIES ! He's suspicious of his brother Antonio who is super charming when it wants to be, relaxed and smiling while he charms. He's also VERY ambitious ! I think that he wants to oust Roman and take over, everything ! He's a long range planner for sure ! Roman does some of his trusted people keeping a very close eye on things. Including Mila's crime dad,  and his new wife. Both of them don't care a bit about Mila. Roman has several trusted men with Matteo and Luca at the top of the list !

This is an emotional,  has some humor, well played story with twists and turns that I adored. Many I didn't see coming until they did !  Mila and Roman are going to have to "play well" together to survive this Mafia story ! Suspense until the end.

 Rodion Rysev gives a false last name when he first goes to see Dr. Keira Walsh. He comes in as Mr. Zelenov; a 32 year old "businessman" who can't sleep.  Lies, all lies but Keira see something more in him as they progress. Well, she's been keeping some dangerous secrets herself and she knows the signs.  After all, her father was a very dangerous man who she was hiding and running from all these years. When he is killed, the danger doesn't stop. Her uncle Cormac O'Shea wants to find her and arranged her marriage to a very brutal man for an alliance to benefit him. Keira has only one friend that she has let in her life years ago but she can't help.

Rodion is a VERY charming man but Keira has seen through charm before and isn't sure about him for a long time.  Even Rodion's siblings don't really trust Keir wondering if she's a plant for information on them. Demyvan is actually the head of the family (Older brother) and he was fiery and kind of uncontrollable until he mellowed somewhat when he married. Krill is the cold brother with pale eyes who  says little but notices EVERYTHING !  Nina is that sister that fills the helper role in their dysfunctional family !

Kolya is a pretty stable man who stays by Rodion's side even when he wonders about the decisions that Rodion is making.  There are a few others that actively helping them too.

I liked that was a slow burn of trust and love between the main characters and how most of the dangers have been "erased". But the Italians are still coming but they are safe for now !

____My 5 star Review TITLED:   This woman comes armed with Lists !

 

I loved Gianna Cortese the woman who fights with a battle plan of lists and research.  She owns Caffe Milano and inherited a huge debt. Everyone wants her place and are working against her to get it.  She's not  only fighting to keep it but to also protect her 17 year old sister, Mia !  And she wasn't as defenseless as everyone seems to think that she is !!!

It made me smile when Damiano D'Angelo swaggers in with HIS smile thinking he already has the wining hand.  Ouch for him ! She's already at least 3 steps ahead of him and he doesn't like it ! He's known her for years and could never figure out how she always beat him at chess when they were younger. It still stings but he's always wondered about that. I guess he always though HE was the smartest one in the room.  I loved how marriage to Gianna was going to be on Her Terms only !!

I couldn't help it but it didn't take long for me to like Damiano as I watched him get out maneuver by Gianna.  And later, their first real negation gets really HOT !

Mia is sadly had to be wiser than her years but Gianna has practically raised her for YEARS. I really liked Mia too!

 Damiano's cousin, Luca Caruso is going to be a big thorn for them but it gets really interesting when he tries his hardest to win. 

 Turns out Gianna and Damiano make for a great team !

 My 4 Star Review TITLED:   Enzo said he likes pissing people off

  

  Enzo said he likes pissing people off, well then Kira Petrov just might be his perfect match, lol ! She loves to party, get drunk and enjoy what freedom that she can. She ends up slipping out her house to party and when Enzo approaches her she calls him an Old Guy to his face. Then tells him to move on, she's not interested !She doesn't know who he really is, the host of the party and Enzo ! Hilarious.  She finds out that her father Gregor  and her brother, Maxsim have planned her future...with him !! She's not afraid to get up in Enzo's face even if he the older Bravta boss.  Gotta admit, that silly spoiled girl made me roll my eyes more than once!

 

One of my favorite lines is - Let’s not kill each other before then (before the wedding that is). I was actually concerned one of them WAS going to get hurt. But Enzo was way more patient with her than she deserved, most of the time.  Enzo wasnt even sure he wanted to marry her but HIS boss, Nikolai Volkoc, head of the Bratva, needs this marriage for peace. That's gonna be dicey ! Another man, Marco Amato acts like he should be making decisions not Enzo. He's waiting in the wings.

I hated Enzo's Aunt Francesca and  how she treated Kira. She was  one nasty woman. His sister Gianna lives with the aunt and has turned that girl into a shadow. 

 I heard read that  Gianna gets her own story with  someone named Will and it's called, "Hitman". I can hardly wait for that one !

My 5 Star Review TITLED: The Monsters are circling

I loved Emilia Russo , the "civilian", a protector of the woman's shelter.  She's worked her fingers to the bone to  help them after they have been abused. Women who are terrified and feel alone. Emilia rescuing Anya starts the whole arena of danger for Emilia, and the center and it's volunteers. Emilia may be small but she's getting tougher and so does her small staff. Mia isn't quite as street smart, she's still a bit soft but Emilia's friend and co-worker Marisol is a different story. She's not easily fooled.  I liked her a lot too. 

Stefano Bellini  has some trusted men which include first of all Luca, then Matteo and Domenico.  His Capo Vitale comes up a question mark, more than once.  Stefan's mother shows up in the story a couple of times and I liked her too. She's honest with Emilia about how life with her son would be like. Not cruel, just honest. 

There are several other "sharks" circling and they are helping or are behind the Bratva selling and trafficking women.  And they have been circling the shelter for quite a while. They even have hooks into one seemingly charming police officer.  Things get pretty intense, especially towards the end ! Very well done as is the ending with all exposed and taken care of and Emilia refusing to be invisible.  I liked how Stefano and Emilia's romance wasn't hot right away but they edge their way to love and intimacy.

My 4 Star review notes :  TITLED: Lily and Detective Lance Phillips make a great team

 I liked how the story started out with "the man"slipping that note and how she noticed later how he made sure that she got a deliberate, clear view of his face. He seemed to just know that she had surveillance in her restaurant. What a great start. Turns out it was another good story.

My 5 Star Review TITLED: Their attraction could get them killed

Lev Morozov might be the pakhan's son but he's the second son. The one the father is not so proud of but plenty ready to send to do the dirty work. When he gets shot up, he DEMANDS that his bodyguard/friend, Ruslan take him to  Moscow General that is further away. He has his reasons ! It because of the very skilled trauma surgeon that he has been obsessing over for 2 years !

Dr. Polina Kozlov treats whoever comes into her E.R. but does the unthinkable and dangerous thing of hiding who he really is. Yep, that really could get them ALL killed even Ruslan for covering for Lev !  I really liked that they were that tight !
Lev and Polina just can't stay away from each other although it keeps getting harder to lie to their families.  It begins as a sweet, secretive romance because Lev refuses to be like his father. He WON'T  just take what isn't offered.  I loved both of them and the intensity of this story.  I will be reading more by this author !

___________  My 5 STAR Review Notes TITLED:  2 Predators Wed

 

Calla is a dangerous weapon honed by her father. A killing machine that he has USED as a successful, unseen assassin for years ! It's not something that she's ever had a choice about.  She never felt like a daughter. She was just useful !But she comes in looking for all the line of sights, exits and with a few weapons and communications !  

 Domenico (Domi)  Lazaretti is in Chicago, and he's no ones fool. So he's looking for the time that Calla tries to plant a knife in his back !  They are married adversaries circling each other. Each dangerous in their own ways.  

Turns out that they both have been played by both sides of the family.  It's quite a twist or two and I loved how it all played out and how it ended. They managed to get their HEA. Well, at least for now.  Their not stupid and will enjoy their lives but also keep a sharp eye out too !

I really liked both of the main characters. Everly Carter grew up in Nicholasville and then was gone for 8 years studying to be a doctor.  Now that she is, she is ready to practice in her hometown ! She has family and many good memories here !  This town pulls together, big time !

Everly's twin brother, Rowan starts the whole thing causing the delightful chaos with the fake engagement ! He's always been a harmless jokester of their family ! Most of her family is already planning parties and the wedding for them !!! 

Connor Hayes, is a great guy and he grew up with Everly and it takes a short amount of time for him to realize how much he missed her ! Then his ex, Cheryle Harrison shows up stirring up ALL kinds of trouble !  

 Having grown up in a small town I appreciated how real it all was.  I really liked the ending and want to thank the Author for the ARC of this books !

_______________ my 4 Star review  TITLED:  A Different kind of Mafia Dad

 Tina Moore is a STRONG, 20 year old woman who is in over her head right away ! (I love strong female main characters!)  She is however attracted to 40 year old Carlos Alvarez; the kids father. . The housekeeper, Maria tells Tina to be careful because Carlos likes to test boundaries. She knows !  But she doesn't mind that. 

 Carlos is such a good protective father to his kids, Ana who is 9 and Nico who is 6 years old. Ana is a quiet, slow to warm up child who observes before she decided about Tina the new nanny.  Nico is the opposite, boisterous, out going and flings himself into Tina waist really early.  We get to watch them all grow together as a family and even as the kids become fully rounded adults !

I liked how Carlos learned new ways to be in his "business" because of Tina and became even more successful.

One thing that bothered me a bit was the often repeated phrases of, " 

I’m not fragile.

He says I’m not temporary.

He says I’m not leverage.

He says I’m permanent."  

However I did like how intense the story got at times as they dealt together with problems and solved them.  And that there was closed door intimacy between Tina and Carlos. It was more about the story and relationships !

--------------my 5 star Review TITLED:  Secrets Explode

Sloan Carrington is on the run from her brother, Rhett. He plans on taking her 4 year old son, Noah ! Whatever it takes !!!  She's been on the run for 4 years but he's caching up.  I love Dee, who points her to Moonrise and the man Knox Wilder.  Her one night stand that she never forgot and who fathered her son Noah. 

Noah hasn't known a father and Knox didn't know about his son, until it all hit the fan !Understandably he's angry because hes missed 4 years of his son's life ! More trouble follows but so do the men that will burn down everything in order to help Knox, Noah and Sloan.

Such an emotional story that pulled me in HARD. I loved it !!!   I sure hope that there will be more in the series of these brave, got your back men.."brothers" I enjoyed it all even with the occasional tears.   There were plenty of smiles too ! And Noah? Ah, Noah such a great little guy !

 my 4 star review- titled:  Rules, Boundaries & Cautious Alliances 

I really liked that Emmy was a STRONG, but exhausted woman. Protective of her 6 year old son Noah and trying to protect her son for her ex's manipulations !  Martin Hales is he enemy from Adrian DeLuca's side and of course HER ex is the other !!  So sad, that custody is one of the things weaponized against her. And they are relentless! The pressures were coming from all sides and Adrian was sincerely trying to help but Emmy's also teaching HIM to let go of his control of her situations. He's trying but he does fail a few times. Emmy wants him to stand WITH her not in  front trying to fix things ! Dom works with him as much as Adrian will allow but knows when to back off too ! The enemies start lining up confident that they are about to win ! Problem after problem designed to make them cave in ! Not going to happen but it is tough for quite a while !

Things get really intense before the ending that made me smile.
