BOOK REVIEW OF SNEAK PEAK- THE GLITTERING COURT

THIS IS NOT A FULL E-GALLEY. THIS IS A SNEAK PEEK.
A dazzling, romantic new fantasy series set in a mix of Elizabethan and frontier worlds from Richelle Mead, #1 internationally bestselling author ofVampire Academy.
Big and sweeping, spanning the refined palaces of Osfrid to the gold dust and untamed forests of Adoria, The Glittering Court tells the story of Adelaide, an Osfridian countess who poses as her servant to escape an arranged marriage and start a new life in Adoria, the New World. But to do that, she must join the Glittering Court.

Both a school and a business venture, the Glittering Court is designed to transform impoverished girls into upper-class ladies who appear destined for powerful and wealthy marriages in the New World. Adelaide naturally excels in her training and even makes a few friends: the fiery former laundress Tamsin and the beautiful Sirminican refugee Mira. She manages to keep her true identity hidden from all but one: the intriguing Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy proprietor of the Glittering Court.
When Adelaide discovers that Cedric is hiding a dangerous secret of his own, together, they hatch a scheme to make the best of Adelaide's deception. Complications soon arise—first, as they cross the treacherous seas from Osfrid to Adoria, and later, when Adelaide catches the attention of a powerful governor.
But no complication will prove quite as daunting as the potent attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. An attraction that, if acted on, would scandalize the Glittering Court and make them both outcasts in wild, vastly uncharted lands. . . .
The full book is available at AMAZON  on April 5, 2016.

I really liked what I read of the story.  Adelaide was easy to be drawn to and she had quite the creative idea to escape the life that others had planned for her.   An arranged marriage to a bore of a cousin and his controlling grandmother, who held the reins to everything.  I liked that she was spunky and adventurous. even when certain things were over her head.  Like, doing the normal things of living that most of the girls around her knew to do but she had servants to perform before.   Tamsin and Mira were interesting and sometimes mysterious with their own secrets.  I liked each one of them and hoped things would work out well for all of them.  Adelaide definitely followed after her father's wise advice, even from his grave.  He had often told her that there were 3 ways to deal with situations in life.  When bad things happened (and they would) you could be crushed, endure or move quickly to outsmart them. That seems to have become the motto of her life and how she got where she suddenly found herself.  She was quick on her feet as the challenges came.  This story had plenty of challenges, good friends, and plenty of secrets.   Now Cedric, I liked him and his secret was something potentially dangerous.
But I also wondered if he knew more about The Glittering Court that could also be dangerous.  From the few conversations that Adelaide had been able to overhear from his father, it sounded like something sinister could be hidden.  Is their arrival on Adoria, going to really be as glittering as promised?

Where my copy ended, things were starting to really move, with more questions cropping up.   Good timing on that Sneek Peek ending, it leaves you wondering.

I received this copy of the book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
