BOOK REVIEW:MORE THAN THE MONEY

22425768
Rory Morrissey has the opportunity of a lifetime being offered to him.  He spent many years away from family;  years working hard in Texas and is now returning to New Zealand.  There's  a really large estate working for the taking but there is also another unbreakable condition.  The controlling owner, has thrown in the condition of marrying his grandaughter, Alfrieda as part of the deal.  In order to win, he has to have Alfie on board.  She's shy, but she's also tired of being so unmercifully controlled and all she wants is her freedom.  Rory might be drop dead gorgeous and charming but its not going to be as easy as he first thought.  Sparks are about to fly.

Spicy; yes, some of the story is definitely spicy.  To be honest as I read the story I began to see that it could also have been called "The Seduction of Alfie".  I enjoyed the fact that although he wanted the farm, he began to realize he was intrigued by Alfie.  He began to want to know who she really was as she began to be more free of her grandfather's cruel presence.  He began to seduce her with kindness, and specific possibilites of freedom if she were to marry him. He was relentless in his pursuit constantly reminding her how good marriage could be between them. He often told her they could build something, make it work if they just tried.  He also wasn't shy about her becoming more used to him and also the physical attraction that he introduced her deeper into.   Alfie fought him especially hard at first because she was terrified, but she also didn't want her calculating grandfather to win either.  She still thinks Rory will say or do anything to get the farm, that he really doesn't want her.   Like I say, boy do the sparks every fly.
