BOOK REVIEW- SABOTAGED
Kirra Jacobs and Reef McKenna, have know each other since grade school. But have they really? Kirra has always been pegged by Reef as a bossy, good girl while Reef has been seen as a live in the moment wild boy. They are both once again working as search-and-rescue for Alaska's arduous Iditarod race; this time working as a team. When Reef sees Kirra sneaking out of camp at night, they both find out that her uncle is in way over his head in danger. He is part of the race but his daughter is being held hostage. He either does what the kidnappers say or she dies. There is also another disaster waiting to be unleashed, so Kirra, Reef and the McKenna family need to find out what's going on quickly and as quietly as possible. And they have to be careful not only for themselves but for Kirra's uncle, and her cousin. And to make sure they can stop disaster from striking at the heart of Alaska.
Great read. Great thriller with lots of red herrings too. I love twists and turns.
I just flew through the story, the flow was so good. I have to admit I became a fan of Dani Pettrey when I first read her book, "Submerged". I was introduced to her work when I got a free copy of that book through what was then Booksneeze. I fell in love with the McKenna family and read several books of the Alaska Courage series after that. This story did NOT disappoint me. Loved the main characters and the gentle nudges to follow the guidance of God while they were going through their trials. Some quick prayers were offered as well, which I liked. But it was done in such a way that I would like to think that it wouldn't distract from the story for non-Christians. The story was just that good.
On a side note- Kayden McKenna and Jake Weston were an interesting couple and it was kind of fun to see some of the interactions between the two as they worked together. It was just nice to peek into the McKenna family since the other books and the Epilogue was also something I welcomed at the end.
I was given a FREE copy of this book by Bethany House in exchange for an honest review. Amazon link
And if they were to offer me another free copy of a book written by her, I would be quick to grab it up. She's an author I keep my eye out for.
