A seaside castle, a body below the cliffs, and a village harboring many secrets.

Surprising events bring Agnes Eady and her mischievous cat, Blighter, across the pond to the cozy Shetland Islands.

But within hours of settling in, she stumbles across a dying man.
Every quirky villager seems to have a motive, but Agnes knows a blind alley when she sees one.
Chief Inspector Ian Mullen is skeptical of foul play.
    That’s his first mistake.
    The second? Underestimating Agnes.

As she navigates a web of lies and alibis, Agnes learns to trust Blighter’s keen instincts.

But someone’s watching her every move.

Will she be silenced for good?

As tensions rise, lines between friend and foe blur, leaving Agnes fighting for her life—and the truth.

MY REVIEW-5 Stars titled: That Nosy American

Agnes, that darling nosy American ! I was thrilled with her.
Her humor, her insights and her quickly making friends with
the local people. Bonnie and Ron, who have been caretakers of
the castle were the first to line up and become fast friends,
workers and supporters. She ends up with a great group of friends
and neighbors. ALL of them encouraging her to stop snooping
but it's not in her nature. Things not solved makes her
    nuts,is what she says !
Blighter the cat, started out the story and he was a bigger
help than anyone ever expected. Agnes wished he could speak in
more than just "meow". But was glad that he appeared out of
nowhere an "adopted" her. She was lonely after her husband,
Alfred died. Well, that was until the castle and meeting,
Ian the Scottish Inspector. He keeps telling her to stay out
of HIS investigation but she not only doesn't stay out of the
murder but finds many ways to help him. They became friends
after a while and there seems to be romance in the air for
    them. That made me smile.
What a great surprise, when I got to the end of the book.
Not only a great ending with hope for the future
with the Castle being transformed into a successful Inn.
but also some authentic Scottish recipes. I plan on trying a
few of them. AND reading more adventures of Edna !
