BOOK REVIEW- A FAMILY AFFAIR

Fanny loved her Uncle Rake's best friend, Devlin desperately, even if she is only five years old.  She knew even then she would be the perfect wife for him and told him so.  He disappears from her life and re-appears at her first ball.  Society acknowledges her as Lady Francesca Darling and he as  Devlin Ross, the Duke of Hereford.  It may sound prim and proper but the attraction that is brewing is anything but.  Because of his father's cold, abusive treatment, Devlin fears marriage and having children and has some odd ideas about it.  Fanny is a romantic young woman with a fighting spirit and she wants a true love and marriage.  Now toss in Fanny's extremely close, loving, overprotective family and standback, drama to follow....

This story made me smile more than once, what a cast of characters.  Fanny herself was funny, loyal and bubbling up with personality, drawing others into her net. This woman seemed to be related to just about everybody.  She finds herself surrounded by so many who love her unconditionally while Devlin grew up feeling unloved and unwanted.  That is quite a big difference to overcome. Fanny's family included so many really attractive men in it, those who love her deeply and will do anything protect her from any womanizers like them and they make the courtship quite entertaining.  But don't count Fanny out, although she is sweet and loving, she has also grown up among all that testoserone, and seen how men roll, so she is also clever and can be ingenuous when crossed.  Uh-oh!  * I'm smiling, here*

I would also like to hear more about Fanny's friend, Penelope.  Is there a story about Rake and possibly Penelope?  I just checked it out...yes, and it's called, " Never Had A Dream Come True".   My smile just got bigger, I've got that book (free from the author for an honest review)!!  I think I know what book I'm reading next.

I WAS GIVEN A FREE COPY OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.
